A way to improve UO?

Perhaps every shard needs a player (or a dozen depending on the player base) who is also a GM, has the ear of the devs/OSI and also reads the boards daily (this one is siege specific).
Bad names/scripters/exploits... someone would be there to see and act on this.
Heck I am sure there are hundreds of people willing to do this and do it well (without bias and for the betterment of UO) for just one free account with no added perks.

The devs have been told MANY times about issues. They choose to ignore them. UO will not get any better.

I'm sure that such a position would never be used for personal gain. Nor would the person ever play favorites. Nor would they ever start to become drunk with power.

Alas, power corrupts. Well ... except for moderators. Moderators are all good. *figits uncomfortably*

(other than that fear, I like the idea)

No, it'd be next to impossible to find someone who wouldn't abuse the power.

Ive said for years that every shard needs its own gm. Not someone for major content, just to run quick events, help out with player run functions and decorate the place.

It would cost money sure, but it will keep the people engaged. You could probably have one person do 2-3 shards even.

I know I would have a blast doing that kind of job. I would totally just like set up stuff out in the wilderness, where no one goes, just to keep people out and adventuring.
