This is not in any way meant as a troll, but as a warning.
I read in another thread that many of you were looking to xfer items for the rares festival. The festival itself seems foolproof. Silent Auction = genius. However, if another scam were to take place, it will be on the way to the festival, not during it.
I read that a certain collector bases his trust off of community involvement. This can be easily faked by certain scammers who own enough rares to pass a new char off as a returning collector. Do not be so willing to trust another player based off of their items and a few months of chatting on a forum.
Have I heard of any plans to scam rares? No.
Do I foresee the scam coming from miles away if this over-trusting continues? Yes.
For your own sake, develop a secure way of trusting each other when it comes to xferring rares. The best solution would be to exclude anyone who hasn't been prominent in the community since before the Pacific Rares Festival. However, not being able to eventually trust newcomers could cause problems down the road as old collectors quit. I'm confident you guys can develop a much safer way than easily faked community involvement.
