The Vollem?
They can be crafted, although the crafted ones won't bond, and they might look slight different.

They're "[tame][golem]" so I'm not sure about the feeding, but from what the devs have said, only the token ones will bond.

If a tamer can animal lore the token one, to see if it eats anything. Then in theory if you have the pet out at server down (or possibly unplug modem, although I think only server down would work) then the pet will remain around and lose loyalty. When it goes wild, it might be tamable and bondable again.
That, at least, worked for the squirrels at one point.
Very doubt-y on that though...

The Vollem from the early buy gift token is a real animal that bonds straight away and feeds on meat. Bandies or magik to heal. Its stats/skills are about the same as a Mare. No its not rideable.

The craftable Vollem is a tinker product that requires tinkering to heal.

Typically with these types of animals that come from statuettes (such as the albino squirrel, paroxysmus' dragon, and the grizzled mare), if an animal is released, it disappears immediately, much like releasing a summoned Earth Elemental.

It's possible that the loyalty rating may drop, and it will release, and be lost forever.

Actually, they vanish if they're released.
But, last time I knew, if they went wild, they'd stick around.

Might have been fixed, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be high on their priorities.

guys, re the gift token pet, does it require any taming skill or can it be claimed and controlled safely with any class?

Haven't dared release mine yet as I'm no tamer :)

If you release it, it will disappear, then only way would (maybe) be get it unhappy the way I describe, so it goes wild.
Absolutely no idea what taming it would require.

Can bonded pets not be transferred? If they can the best thing might just be to get a friend you trust to take it from one character, and then transfer it back to the char you want it on. Still no guarantee it would rebond though.

Bonded pets can, but summoned generally can't.
Although, I don't recall seeing "summoned" on the Vollems...

Curiouser and curiouser...
