First: Don't post here how it is done!
I've read quite a lot about duping on these boards during the past months. In game, I never was confronted with duping. Neither do I buy expensive stuff from vendors, nor do I know anybody abusing bugs. (As a matter of fact, the only "cheating" I personally witnessed, was scripters in the Painted Caves.)
It seems that the duping problem is still out there, and according to the boards it has been a problem for a long time. My point is: I'd like to understand where the root of the duping problem lies. To my knowledge, each items has a unique ID. "Duping" an item would mean that there would be 2 items with the same ID. This could easily be prevented.
Maybe I am technically naive, but why can't duping be efficiently prevented? Where lies the core problem? Why do dupes happen again and again over several years?
