A sim lawsuit just waiting to happen

I'm in the process of building a house for one of my sims. While I was putting in the front door, I noticed a problem. The mailbox is right in front of it. If there wasn't a space between it and the house, any sim would be walking right into the mailbox. It's a sim lawsuit just waiting to happen!
Seriously, though, in the future, would it be possible to make the mailbox, and trash can movable? (Yeah, yeah...I know I could've moved the door, but it would've thrown the house design out of whack.)

In the last update we were suppose to be given the ability to move things that were out of bounds. For some, like me, it did not woke. Whether of not you could move the mailbox with this feature...I have no clue. Hope you can make the door/mailbox work for you.

I just tried it after reading your post. Nope, doesn't work with stuff like the mailbox, trash can or phone booth.

You're right - it did not work. I told Greg about it in Town Hall - he told me to write the team - which I told him I had done already and not heard anything - but that I could of course always write again - which I have.

I have a door stuck by the roadside, and no; I don't think it's a 'funny little thing' - it annoys the hell out of me.

I was excited when i read what the contents were of the update because I have the same problem with a door being out of bounds. I will also write the devs to let them know about this.

If anyone has an old BV house they should go check them as I remember there being quite a few doors & windows out in the street that were unmoveable.

Off to see if I can get rid of my useless, not in a wall, out in the street window.

Ill update in a mo.

NOPE the window is unmoveable as its out of bounds.

I remember in Sims1 - you couldn't move the mailbox. If you did move it (with the cheat) it ruined that lot forever. Had to erase that house completely and start over from scratch.

I doubt you'll find a way to move the mailbox in tso, but if you would, leave it alone

I'm thinking this may be because if we have the ability to move the mailbox then we could put in the middle of the pool, like in Sims2. No bills would come to the house.

I completely forgot about that!!

In the middle of the pool?! LOL! I can't play sims 2 on my computer, so I don't know anything about that. Sounds interesting, though.
