hello, everyone.

ultima online has allways been my dream and my imagination.
i think ultima online is the best game in the world.

but, i found out that ultima online is far far superior than i expected.
amazing...

recently, i am training the mysticism skill of ultima online.
and i found out that it is very similar to real, logically.

so, i wonder who invented this game?
i guess it is maybe "world".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and there is one thing i allways would like to say.
in the movie "high lander", there is a words that is " there can be only one".
but it is a fiction, and i think even though it has a similiar logical factor of real, it is a thing of million years ago.

nowadays, on the contrary, the words that is "one die, all die.", is more similar to real.

it means all we made.
it means all we making.

it means we are HUMAN.

... though we refuse to see
All we are is dust in the wind...

Not sure sure why that popped into my head after reading your post but it seems fitting.... I think.

Good analysis. Trying to answer the "who invented this game ... " (bolded part). In RL a small company named Origin Systems was founded by Richard Garriott, his brother, father and another fellow (wiki link here). They developed a solo player series of games called the Ultima series.

This established the base storyline and world/landmasses. Some of the original towns were Skara Brae, Britain, Paws (later Yew), Minoc and Moonglow. These could be played on 8-bit systems like Atari, Apple II, Commodore and later PC. This was back in the 1980s ... I know as I was playing them on my Atari. <big smile>

Origin (aka OSI) was purchased by Electronic Arts (EA) but the OSI staff still kept producing stuff and one of the items was Ultima Online (UO). OSI (as a named entity) finally disappeared in 2004 or so. UO is based closely to the original story from the original games but over the years with additions, tweaks and such it has veered off somewhat. The EMs do try to keep to the general theme but each shard has had a different story/history since 1997.

Soooo, in short, UO was initially an idea started by Origin Systems, expanded by EA and improved by the role-play of those of us who pay subscription fees. BTW - if you can locate it, there was a "Dragon Pack" of Ultima games released by EA some years back. All the original games were in it as well as some other goodies. One sits in my hutch.

this is very basic and very important thing to talk about.
so, i have to be very carefull.
so, please understand my not commenting.

but, i put one input more to help someone saying "dust" at this moment, though it is different area of talking about.
"dust" means environment, everyone has a possibility to be a "dust", if environment does not allow.
even if environment does not allow, we must have a direction to move forward.
even if the wind blows against our direction, so even if our position is being moved against our direction, all we have to do is just to have a direction.
i think that is enough as a human. i think it is all the thing allowed to human.

...All the world is a stage....(Otherwise known as The Seven Ages of Man)

(had to memorize and perform that for my final in Theatre.....it's so fitting)

For those of you who have no clue, who don't like Shakespeare or are just too lazy to look it up ;)

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first, the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slippered pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Wait, and the whole time I thought Rush wrote this...

Kinda reminds me of when i was at school and we had to write a "poem" for English Lit.
I just copied down the lyrics of Iron Maidens, Rime of the Ancient Mariner and claimed it was my version of the ST Coleridge poem. :D :naughty-angel::devil:

it means all we made.
it means all we making.
it means all we will make.

it means we are HUMAN.

it means map of world.

I can't tell if there is a language barrier, or if this is a poorly written machine learning bot.

They get an ehhhhh... for effort?
