A question about some areas of the abyss.

I just finished doing the quest that allows entrance to the abyss. I goofed and died from one part of mage goblins spamming para/explode on me and the lack of spell resist.
My question is,why after death, must you get kicked out of certain parts of the abyss? I died and was instantly rezed and shuttled out of the area....right at the feet of a renowned ratman. I only had 3 hp and my lrc suit in my pack. My stamina/mana was zero so I could not run away or even begin to fight back.

Now I do understand that dying is part of the game, but this makes no sense, unless this is a small gold sink(insurance loss).Whats the point of getting insta-rezed/telestormed right at the feet of something that will one-hit kill you while your armor is still in your pack and you have 3 hp/0 stamina/0 mana.

you must have planted a Seed of the Silver Sapling at that spot i think. normally you dont get teleported in the abyss unless you accept to be ressed at the spot you last planted a seed.

I don't think the renowned ratmen are supposed to be able to go as far as the Silver Sapling. Shouldn't they be area-restricted now?

However, Xalan is right, if you've planted a seed you will ress there (after a prompt), otherwise you'll just be a ghost where you died as normal and have to hoof it somewhere for a ress.

As for the goblin mages... ALWAYS run for the edges of the spawn when they start appearing and slowly work your way back in... regardless of Resist skill if you let yourself be caught in the middle of the spawn, you're probably toast.

Where I fell the 1st time was in a rather long hallway and the goblin mages were grouped together and they all went grey on me all at once and started spamming. Normally I can get away but the lag got bad(I felt I was playing UO in 99 while running down the hall).

Ah so you were in the Underfworld part, not the abyss mini-champ... gotcha. Probably the hallway that goes to the puzzle chest. I can see that getting laggy the way that hallway is constructed.
