A question about Frenzied Ostard

I see here in the hunters guide that 77.1 taming is required to tame this type ostard. My question is that how much taming/lore is required to ride one?

You may be able to at 75/75 range. Frenzieds are like any other "high end" pet, they have to do a control chance check before it can even be transferred to you, if you fail the check you get the message "X refuses to obey message" of a don't trust message now, I forget which. At 75/75 you have about a 25% control chance, it would take a few tried to transfer it to you, and a few feedings to get it to bond. But, it would seldom listen to your commands at that level.

The answer is zero.

Taming related skill checks are performed only when you try to tame, issue a command or being the subject of a pet transfer.

For example you can tame a cu-sidhe with 120 taming-lore then drop the skills (soulstone) and ride-stable your dog with no problem.

If bonded, the pet will stay bonded.

How useful is that. Well, if you want to travel with some odd looking pet with your warrior/crafter quite a lot.

It can have some use in fights too because while you can't issue commands to the pet (it won't obey) if you ask it to guard you before to drop the skills the pet will continue to guard you even if your taming-related skills drop to zero - a guarding pet will attack anything you attack.

So you could basically wander around with a guarding bonded greater dragon even with your miner: you just need to have the skills on when you get the pet and when you perform the bonding check.

I don't know if a skill check is performed when asked for resurrection but i think not.

Wow, dd not know that, cool.

Have a question for you Pgib if you don't mind. Had a friend ask me the other day and I had no answer to give. She was wanting to stone her tame/lore. She has 8 pets in the stable, and was wondering what happens to her pets if she ever needs to stall a horse, swampy etc for the new temp. Told her the multiple slots are tied to tame/lore level but assumed she would just get the message "You have too many pets stalled" deal. When she asked if the ones in there would go *poof* from a stable tame/lore check as she tried to stable anything else. I drew a total blank.....

Any idea?

The pets will not go *poof* and she can take a horse or swampy out at any time - but she'll have to add enough taming/lore/vet on the character to be able to restable the pet(s).

OK then does modified skill from jewelry count toward transfer and bonding checks?
