I have a char with 100 carto, lockpicking and remove traps. Some days ago the chests was golden chest for all maps that i had but it is far from 4 days that i dig only metal chests. Why? The colour of the chest is for the cartography and not for the luck, isn't it? And why now i dig only metal chests?

The unfortunate answer is RNG is RNG. 100 cart does not ensure a golden chest

If you do SUPPLY Maps, anywhere, you have a chance to find in the Chest Cartography GLASSES, they can be +1, +2, +3, +4 and +5 Cartography.

If you then dig the Chest wearing those Glasses and thus having more then 100 Cartography, you will have a higher chance to dig up a better type of chect (metal or Gold).

Yes - I'm definitely seeing it - in spades - at least for Cache maps. Not done the higher ones yet. The difference is extremely pronounced. As in 1 artifact for a rusted chest, compared to all but 1-2 items being artifact in a gold chest, with iron somewhere in between (and assassin chests being obscenely high end regardless of type).

Either your Luck is overwhelming the differences in chests by buffing the loot, or there's not as much gap between rusted and gold chests at hoard & Trove.
