The follow is taken from a post made by Crazy Joe on the Thief forum. This will hold true for this forum as well:

At first, calling someone a "Crate" was basically the same as calling someone a "Tamer" or "smith" to me. However it has degraded so far down it's now a slur. I have read a few post here and there, and it's no longer the 'harmless' description of a person that steals from a crate....it's being used as a flat out insult/slur/derogatory Term
And guess what?
ROC states 1.) Show respect 2.) Help bulid the community 3.) Personal insults are not allowed.
That's what "Crate" has become basically, against the ROC.
So from here on out, I will treat it as such when seen used as a Slur.
