'Ello friends,
The lunch-time crowd had just begun to arrive at The Red Dragon Inn when I received a parrot with a rather large delivery order attached to its leg. It listed food & drinks for a party of seven and wanted it delivered ASAP alongside a sketchy road somewhere in Malas. Having never delivered to this area before, I didn't have any runes marked so I had to travel the old-fashioned way: First by rowboat to the mainland (because we're on an island), then take a quick jump via Zento's moongate to Umbra, and finally gallop as fast as my horse's ethereal legs could take her towards Luna in search of my destination.
Before long, a group of shifty looking elves camped alongside the road came into view. As I approached the camp one of the elves whistled and motioned for me to come over. They were the ones who placed the order I was delivering. I carefully handed out the food and drinks they ordered and then waited patiently to see if they needed anything else.
"If yer waitin' fer a tip, we gotta good one fer ya..." remarked one of the elves in a snarky manner. To which another elf chimed in, "Use a rune next time!"
Upon hearing this the entire group of elves burst into raucous laughter and began talking amongst themselves in Elvish as they retreated back towards their camp with their meals in hand. "If I had a gold piece for every time I heard that..." I chuckled to myself. I wasn't going to say anything but then I heard someone in the camp exclaim, "This ale tastes like warm boura piss!"
That was a perfectly-poured pint of Dwarven Ale served in a frosty mug that he just disrespected. Something had to be done. A message had to be sent; an example had to be made...Challenge Accepted!
The following is a painting of what happened next...
I guess you could say the food was to die for! *Chuckles* On a lighter note, I've been wanting to try out a new recipe for deep-fried elf ears; I hear they're delicious! *Grins*
Sincerely,
Olaf Honeybeard [INN]
