[Discussion] "a magic longsword"

I just received a gift from a friend. It is a Demon slayer longsword titled "a magic longsword". I am wondering how these things didnt get renamed through the AoS expansion and just how common they are?

I have only a couple of these items, and rarely see them for sale... have been told that using item ID on them removes the magic tag, but I'm not about to try it with mine, the reason I keep them is because they say magic

Oh if that's true then I shouldn't put it on display or someone could ID it and remove the tag? Wow cool I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the response!
