Can anyone give me some pointers on spell weaving? I started the quests awhile back but got sidetracked. I want to pick it up again but Im fuzzy on the benefits and the game guide is vague. Currently I have a Char with the following:
MAGERY 100 /110 cap
EVAL 110 /110
RESIST 110 /115 (got the scroll for 50k mixed up in a vendors 110 bag :).
MED 100 /110
ANAT 100 / 110

STR 80
DEX 40
INT 120

My account is 14 mons. I think my Skill cap is 705. My Stat cap says 245.
The Char listed is naked with only sandles.
I have soulstoned some skill and have a charge left on a small stone. So this can be stripped abit.
It will be a PvM char only with hopes of killing VERY large monsters (with names I cannot pronounce) solo.
Is Spellweaving for a guy like me or should I keep dreamweaving?
I have a few slayer spellbooks and hit for 194 damage with one. Will SW increase that ? As you can tell ,Im lost a bit.
Any comments, links or direction will be greatly appreciated.

If you want to kill very large monsters solo, you should think about making a tamer. I actually have a very well equipped pure mage/spellweaver, and he is doing well against most named monsters. I use him only for PvM.

Spellweaving does not increase your spell damage output. It offers a few offensive spells and area effect spells, but they are not very powerful. The most useful spells of spellweaving are protective spells, like Gift of Life, Gift of Renewal and Attunement. Word of Death was quite useful to give monsters a finishing blast, especially if you have to compete with tamers and their Greater Dragons to get looting rights. However, Word of Death has been nerfed a lot, and it now is worthless unless you have a decent arcane focus.

Spellweaving is especially useful if you know other spellweavers to combine powers with. However, this has also been nerfed a lot.

I still like to play my spellweaver, but concerning damage output there are much more efficient templates.

Thanks for that info. I recall there being a lot of info posted regarding the subject but as I was away for a short while stratics crashed and like many others I relied on all you smart helpful folks :). If it wasnt for you guys UO would be a guessing game.
I left Anatomy on my char in case I decided to go with a different melee skill. I had archery but with little dex and limited skill cap for tactics it was like throwing pebbles at plexiglass. And I couldnt use my slayer books AND bow together.
I considered Taming but I cant see it fitting on this template without dropping something that will affect my magery in a negative way. I have 100 lrc suit with jewels with 14 totla mana regen AND 100 Med. Im finding it hard to let Med go and rely on the suit alone. I love casting without the dreaded "not enough mana" message.
If I drop anatomy will I have room to for all the skill points to make taming work at the highest levels.?
I m going to read the guide again to refresh my understanding but I could use some updated help on whats been "nerfed" as you say. Thanks a bunch.
