A humble request to keep Retribution active past the release of SA

Does anyone else desire this as well? Both the new client as well as the 2d version 'test' please? They said that the test shard is gonna 'go away' when SA is released, but I would LOVE to be able to play around with all the new stuff well past that time personally. I guess there will always be a 'test' shard and hopefully it will include the new options/content after SA goes live. Maybe that will suffice to sate my desire? I dunno.

Test Center will have all of the content after SA is released. (Or at least should)

Kind of a dumb question, Chrissay, but will you need to purchase the expansion in order to have access to the SA content on Retribution at that point? It would be nice if you didn't have to, so you can use it as a way to determine if you want to buy the expansion.

There's a good chance that you will need to purchase the SA content to be able to test it on the Test center. As the Test Center acts just like a live shard in a test environment.

Installing the Enhanced Classic 2D, that allowed us to participate on Retribution, created a new directory etc.

Is this directory now obsolete and should be deleted?

Thanks for the reply, Chrissay. A little disappointing, but it makes sense and was what I expected you would say.

When the expansion is ready to go live, do you plan to bring it up on Origin first for a day or two before publishing it to the other shards?

Although I really have no desire one way or the other on this, I had to read this because you put the title of your post in such a polite manner that I found myself opening the thread to see if your entire post was as polite. Which it was! What a refreshing change to see someone ask, nicely and politely, for something they desire. :thumbsup:

No offense to anyone on Origin but I sure hope the answer to this is no. If the expansion is out on September 8, then every shard should have it live then.

I don't really care one way or the other, although it does seem like it could be a smart thing to do in case there are problems big enough to cause a revert.

I can't remember what happened with ML and the SE expansion happened shortly before I started playing (don't even know if Origin was around at that time...?).

They were released to all the shards on the same day. In fact if memory serves me correctly all expansions that we had to pay for were released to all shards on the same day.

If they are offering incentives for people to buy the expansion from a certain date to a certain date (I don't remember the dates off hand) then it would seem rather illogical to only have one shard with the expansion live on it. And it would anger me to buy an expansion to then have to wait a few days to play it on my home shard while another shard had it available to it. Of course this is just my opinion.

You Should Ask that question in a new thread, as I am sure a lot are wondering the same.

I know I don't want it on my computer if Its not needed.

As I have pointed out, several times, the only difference between the 2D client you downloaded to access the open beta and your normal everyday 2D client is that one is patched with SA content and the other isn't. When the expansion goes live and your normal 2D gets patched they will be identical.

Or to be more accurate, your regular 2D will be more up to date, since there will be patches following adjustments made from open beta feedback. That content will obviously not be accessible however, unless you have bought the code to enter into your account.

Are you talking about the Enhanced Client (formerly SA) or are you talking about the Classic Client (formerly 2D)?

There was also a "Special" Classic client available only for Retribution access.

Can We Delete the "special" classic 2d portion we downloaded to play retribution in 2d.
