It is a glorious day indeed as the High Council of Barter Town announce the grand reopening of the Barter Town mines! The mines have been closed for what seems like ages as the good citizens awaited the release of their leader, Chad Sexington, from the wicked king's dungeon. It was decreed today that the mines will be open for all once again, however, the old rules remain in place. Let us sit back and heed the story of Akabat the miner as a bit of a refresher course on the rules of the Barter Town mines.

It was only but a few hours after the High Council ordered the opening of the mines when a scout came across this:

The ore in the mines belongs to the good citizens of Barter Town. To waste it is considered a grave injustice. Our scout began his investigation into who might have done something so blatantly terrible. It did not take long to find the culprit..

Akabat! Not only was she wasting our ore, but she was not wearing the appropriate headgear. For those who are as uninformed as this violator, one must acquire a jester's hat which must be worn while mining.

These rules have been in place for a very long time, they are as old as Barter Town itself. They are not complicated. They do not require a large gold investment. We do not require any sort of permit. Do not waste ore and wear a jester's hat. That's it! Failure to do so will have consequences. The consequences will be at the discretion of the one enforcing the rules. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse.

As the one asked to deliver the enforcement for Akabat, I chose death!

Upon Akabat's resurrection, I shared these simple rules with her.

Now let's all thank Akabat for being a good sport and helping us demonstrate the importance of following these rules so that we may share our ore with all of you.
