A fix for Boat Dyes

Can we get a fix for the new Boat Dyes?

The new Boat Dyes are Account Bound and not only can't be traded but you can't use them on a boat that you don't own even if you have "Captian" status.

This can't be by design, can it?

On the UO GameCodes web page where you buy 'em it says nothing about not being able to trade them.

If fact, it says the exact opposite. It says:

Product Instructions

To claim your Item Token, simply follow these steps once you have received your code:

* Start up Ultima Online with the character you'd like to claim the token.
* Open your paperdoll (or character window) and click on the "Help" button.
* Click the "Promotional Code" button at the bottom of the Help window.
* Enter your Token Code EXACTLY as it appears when it was e-mailed to you.
* Your code will be verified and if valid, a Token will be placed in your inventory bag.
* These Tokens are transferable and can be traded or given to others.

The problem is, you don't get tokens and you can't trade Boat Dyes.

Can we get some feedback on whether or not this is as intended?

What would be even more funny is if you get a message saying "you can not trade this boat because it has been painted" ha

This could run afoul of bait & switch laws if someone really wanted to make an ass of themselves.

However, if there was any professionalism left in UO's management, simple f-ups like this wouldn't be a near daily occurrence. rolleyes:

from what I gathered, it doesn't matter if statements are true or not, a rule is a rule - I think it was a dangerous precedence, but you gotta admit, a lot of people have quit posting about things that are broken and expressing their resulting frustration.Maybe they thought this forum was their last ray of hope, now squashed via ban hammer,they simply quit UO.
Stratics has an certain "image" I think that they want to be projected about the forum, that's cool, but as you're seeing yourself, it's real tough sometimes. Do like me and simply stop posting as much(head in the sand thing), and be very careful about your wording.


I just got home from burying my father, I've had enough death for today, I don't need UO too.

Extremely sorry to hear about your father..... I buried my father just a year ago Christmas... It's still utterly painful... My Mother was buried just about a year and a half before that.

Being an orphan sucks. Though I'm well older... It still sucks, though I can not imagine how horrible it feels for my Grandmother to have outlived 2 children and a son-in-law.

I'm told it gets better... but so far I've not seen that.

Just a hint................dont spend real life money on pixels you don't even own. People who do come across as pretty naive, and comic relief when I tell others, who do not play UO......they ask, "are these kids or grown-ups?"

I say both, but more the latter of the two.....
