A comment on lock-downs and secures...

The Ornate Elven Chest is one of those craftables that is not locked down when "placed" and has to be "chopped" to move it to another location, ie. it "bolts itself to the floor" when placed from it's scroll.

It seems to have a "behavior" that you should be aware of (if you're not already). If you put something in it and then forget to Lock it Down or Secure the chest, the chest will remain there but it's contents will disappear as though they were left on the floor.

Can someone please explain to me WHY some items DO and WHY some items DON'T require locking down in order to not decay? I just wasn't thinking when I "placed" that Ornate Elven Chest that it had to be locked down or secured or it's "contents" would decay but not the chest itself... And the saddest part is that it contained 3 mannequin's suits (my best MR and Luck suits and my brand new Sammy suit that cost me on the order of 30 mill to build)....

Honestly, I don’t think I have ever seen a deeded container ever fail to bring up a menu right away, asking what level of security you want.

I find it to be a far bigger pain in the neck that you have to un-secure containers or 2-space items, even when never using them for storage, when going into construction mode. The vanity and the basin being the main examples.

Even with my favorite 2-space item, the elf-style loveseat... you sit in them and clearly see the division. 2-space items are often flawed and more trouble then they’re worth... most of the times. With containers? Easy fix... don’t use them. They don’t stack... the ones that aren't deeded, one end hangs off the floor. Or best, never use them for storage... however, no matter what... always double check EVERYTHING you lock down and secure in your house. Loosing items happens to the most experienced of us.

Ain't that the truth.. I'm overly paranoid about locking and unlocking nowadays.
