A clever idea for the Serpents Fang

Well, at this point, the Serpents Fang is relatively useless, except for those occasions when killing massive amounts or humanoids is imperative and the poison area damage comes in handy.

I was playing today and found one in my house and figured it may be a cool idea to give the Serpents Fang an inherent infectious strike bonus.

Something like a +2 to the level of poison applied to the blade or something, with the max achievable poison level being level 6 (or maybe even a new level 7 achievable only by the Fang?).

It would kind of be cool because it would give a nice new use to this seldomly used weapon, and kind of plays into the whole idea of a "Serpents Fang".

Eh, just thoughts.

While this sounds really cool, there would be some pretty damaging effects in PvP and I'm not doubting PvM too...
Just from the PvP point I play a DP fencer on test and at the 5 mana cost with 40 lmc its a pretty sweet move, but at dp upped to lethal wich takes like 25-30 a tick what would level 7 do 45-60? thats a bit insane... And I'm guessing it would be damn near incurable with the target bleeding and or strangled... Overpowered but a cool idea none the less.
**Edit when AoS first came out I thought that serpents fang should do the same thing., but it is still pretty useful for the area attack and whatnot.

perfect if you ask me.

everyone has ep if you dont your lame.

why not? one chug usually removes the nox. until pots are made more balanced why not? why should someone be able to chug one cure pot and cure my gm poison. answer is they shouldnt be able to.

Sounds like a bad idea, it would make the Poisoning skill useless. The ability to inflict lethal poison alone is not worth the Poisoning skill.

I could imagine better uses for the serpents fang:

1. A crafter could give any weapon the "infectuous strike" special move (limited to 10 uses), when using a fang.

2. With the fang you could apply a special type of poison to a weapon ("Serpent's Poison"). Ideas are welcome of what this poison could do. Maybe (similar to Parasitic Poison) it would reduce the victim's Stamina each time he gets a poison damage tick.

i agree. the fact some people have the poison skill sucks. theres no reason now. all it is is a deterrent. theres no diff in lethal or lesser, it just makes a person waste a second curing easily.

Aye most people cure any poison within a half a second anyway so there really isn't much point.

Isn't it about time someone polls the Forums for a chance in Poisoning and Potions..? Or something bigger like consumables in general.. including Boxes.

And if you're gonna turn Serp's Fang into a perma-infecting weapon might as well turn ALL weapons into that. As the poster above just said, it won't matter anyway. Just more PvM fun maybe.

What about that Hit Poison area not just hitting that resist, but also inflicting a lower level poison to all those in the vicinity of the hit? Like a lvl 2 poison or something... it would have more use in PvM situations and for PvP you'd have to be more careful as you could flag on more than one person you don't want to.

Make it so you've got to have some poisoning skill in order for the poison to take effect with the hit area.

Poisoning right now kinda sucks as you can insta cure with pots... a lot of PvPers run a UOMedic like script that instantly cures you when it sense you're poisoned rendering a nox fencer/mage almost useless with regards to the poisoning skill as it's countered almost instantly, faster than a human can manually hit it... hence the use of the script.

It would be nice to see a buff to all the lame Doom arti's that are now replaced with Peerless/runic weapons.

I wasn't saying that it should become a perma-infecting weapon, just one that gives an inherent bonus to infecting strike once it is used.

"There Is No Such Thing. People Are Faster Than Scripts. You Suck." ..., Is the reply you'll be getting once certain misleading/mislead buffoons read this statement.

Area multi-poisoning? Ninja Snake Form with AOE on weapon. Alternatively, Frog Form only that's dependant on getting hit.
