According to the taming calculator I should have 99% control chance with 117 taming and 84 lore, yet it won't obey me even once, and i've tried feeding it. What's up with this?

According to the most up-to-date calculator (stickied above), you have 0% chance of control the cu sidhe. Why? You don't have enough lore. I'll see if I can find the equation, should you wish to see it.

Equation:
70 + ((Taming difficulty modifier * (displayed animal taming skill - minimum taming requirement)) + (Lore difficulty modifier * (displayed animal lore skill - minimum taming requirement))/2)

Because your lore is lower than the creature's minimum taming requirement, you have a high lore difficulty modifier, which makes you unable to control your pet.

God damn son of a..... not you... I spent ages getting taming up to 112, my plan was to take it to 115 base and leave lore at 84, going by the calculator on stratics I could have left taming at 105 and took lore to 115 for mostly full control over any pet. All that time wasted.... I feel like killing someone. I seriously did just waste all that time, right? I gain nothing from having taming higher, if i want to tame something I would have just worn a +15 taming ring.

Now that your tame is there, which is really impressive, you can focus on another ring that boosts a different skill an equal amount. But you better get that lore up there or you will be fighting greater drags with hellkittens. Lore is a piece of cake and where your skills are now, you will probably go legendary lore/tame around the same time if you keep training taming.

In a nutshell, yes you wasted your time. +5 animal lore and taming talisman and +15 taming pretty much cancels out all your hard work.

Unless of course you consider that extra 2 taming slots worth the months/years of effort.

Not trying to be mean, just speaking very very objectively is my style.

Well, if it comforts you, the first two times I legend taming was a huge accomplishment for me (third time was just GGS, so no test of patience there). But if you don't see any glory in it, then I suppose you can call it a waste of time.

Well lore is easy to raise and will help you vet your pets, so I wouldn't say it was a disaster

Look on the bright side, it could have been taming you needed to raise!

If this situation causes the template you were planning to not be a viable choice anymore, you could always soulstone the Taming and make a full 'Tamer' character.

As others have said, Lore is easy to gain. I GMed my Animal Lore while waiting at just two or three IDOCs...and I don't camp for hours, either. Just Lore your mount or packy or any tameable over and over and watch your gains get right up there! *smiles*
