Now i've read in UOHerads that "UO Assist and UOAM are sanctioned applications."
This means that now we can't use Uoassist??
And UOAM?
It's not yet upgraded and there is UOCartographer.
No mention of this program.
I've understand well?
Uo assist is forbidden, now?
Sorry but i don't be able to read and understand all that was sayed in that article. ( internet translation are ridicolous )

That can go either way, actually, though using Sanction as a verb for the positive meaning is rarer. And Sanctioned is more of a descriptor, or adjective.

It really comes down to context, and the difference between

"Giving Sanction" (approving via guidelines)

and

"Imposing Sanctions" or "being sanctioned", (punishments resulting from violating the guidelines)

As noted before, context is everything - which is why many online translators fail (like the translator that kept translating a Japanese surname as river forest or forest river, or something like that).

Ivory, I have had good results with the Google translator. I don't use Italian myself but I would be interested to know your experiences.

Actually I have been in meetings where Union and non are discussing company issues with the COO or CEO and the Union folks are "sanctioned" in that they are free to speak without penalty or contract violation.

Sanctions in the governmental sense (like the UN trying to establish sanctions on some country) are definitely in the same vein as Ivory notes - punishment. This example bears out your given definition of sanctioned.

And yes... American English is horrible to learn if it was not your primary language... (Sometimes even if it is!)

Words that sound/spell the same can have different meanings.
Words that sound the same can be spelled differently with different meanings.
Totally different words can have the same meaning.
Words that are spelled the same can sound different with different meaning.

That's before you get into slang or the other variants which can make it even worse.

Now I'm using the google translator and I write what comes out directly on the forum, to show you that it is better that I write directly on its own
