I wanted this piece or the piece that ZChosen had listed. I figured I was a lock for that piece so I quit bidding on this one and then ZChosen decides he doesn't like the price (even though he didn't set a reserve) and doesn't sell it. Now I miss out on both pieces. This is comical.

No offense Bear but neither jewel was anything spectacular or way overpriced so why didn't you just make a serious bid or post a large buyout amount you would spend? Your one bid posted here was nothing more than the bare minimum over the previous bid. Same as in zchosens auction I believe.
When I want something I certainly don't always wait and/or hope the seller will post a buyout.
Sometimes when you play around only bidding the minimums you get burned
