FAQS:​

1) What is this live auction thing?​

Answer: Items are auctioned off in real time, while bidders yell out amounts until such time as the auctioneer has said, "Going Once!, Going Twice!, SOLD!!!" At which time either the item or a coin will be placed on vendor B for the winner to buy. If the item is a coin, Yoda will step outside the auctioneer area and hand you your item.​

2) Can I submit items I want to be auctioned and if so how? and how much does it cost me?​

Answer: Yes you may. Either contact Yoda or Longtooths at the ICQ numbers above. Please have item(s) in a bag with a book. In the book, put your name, your ICQ number, item and for this special auction we will be accepting reserves and starting bids. Items are accepted up until Wednesday night. Every auction fills up fast so we may have to turn away items and we apologize for this. As far as cost, the Auction house takes 10% of all money taken in.​

3) Is there a list of the items being auctioned?​

Answer: NO, from time to time we will give teasers if there are particularly good items but generally no we do not.​

4) Can i pay for my items at a later time?​

Answer: No, we pay the people that submit their items immediately following the auction so we need the money for the items before the end of the auction.​

5) How do I get to the Ye Ole Auction House?​

Answer: There will be gates from Luna and Rares Fest to the Ye Ole Auction House on the night of?​

There are also Tellys at the following Luna Houses: Yoda's (South Entrance), Longtooths (NE Corner), Nabin's​

RULES:​

If you win an item and do not pay for it, you will be banned.​

If you disrupt the auction in any way you will be banned.​

All mounts and animals are to be left on the bottom floor.​

Block the gate to the auction house with a mount or animal , you will be banned.​

In effort to create more room in the auction houses, I am asking players waiting to have their items displayed in the silent auction and players with no bids on their items currently on display to consider selling your items in the Ye Old Auctioneer's Live Auction. When you are trying to add people in the new ICQ it defaults to adding people to your Phone contacts in the drop down. Just click in the drop down and change it from Phone Contact to General Contact.

I hear you guys (auctioneers) collected a 10% cut from this live auction. Is this true? If so, I am thinking that this is the first live auction to be associated with a rares fest that has done so. Honestly, just curious at this point.

I was charged a 10% fee for the item of mine that was sold. So unless I was the only person, I would say that yes, they did...

Just posting to clarify what I think wootsauce was commenting on, is the fact that every rarefest before that has had a live auction at least in my memory all fees were waived that would normally apply in spirit for the fest.

Please allow me to explain exactly what happened. We were asked to host the auction. It was personally my first Raresfest since returning to the game. I did not have knowledge of any customs, nor did I know exactly what this, “Raresfest” thing was all about. All I knew was I was to hold an auction on a special night, not normally in our Sunday rotation. It was never mentioned by anyone that we should not collect a fee. I posted our normal rules, at top of this page, including our normal fee. Again no one said anything. I tried to tell every new person that I collect submissions from that there is a fee, just so that we are straight. Things were kind of hectic and I might miss a person here or there.

It was not until we were three fourths of the way through handing out the proceeds to the people that submitted them that I was engaged by a member of Toad Town staff to ask if I had charged a fee. I answered in the affirmative and they said they had forgotten to mention it to us that traditionally it was supposed to be free. They assured me that all was well and I moved on and finished handing out the remaining proceeds, paid the auctioneers and closed the books.

To recap, we did not make a decision to break tradition and collect our fee. We honestly had no idea that we were expected to run our auction for free. I doubt it would have changed our mind to host the event, as we certainly do not run it for the gold. Those that think that have simply never run a live auction at 10%.

In that vein, if any submitter would like to have their 10% back, I will pay them out of my own pocket. Please contact me via the same ICQ that you submitted items to me with and I will be more than happy to oblige.

Let me just add I think all yall did a great job and the 10percent didn't bother me as I had nothin in auction But really if I did it wouldn't had bothered me. Thanks to all of Toad Town for hosting this fest and all events during. Oh and our Dark Lady for the deco she placed which I think has been the best so far.
