1H Weapon Mandatory for Sampire?

2H weapons add a bit higher parry chance (not a huge deal, but still worth mentioning) and also do more damage than their 1H counterparts, so is potion-chugging worth the lower DPS?

Here are some sample stats with 120 str, 120 tactics, 120 anat, 45 SSI, 100 DI:

Bladed Staff (AI): 54-61
Broadsword(AI): 54-58

Double Axe (WW) : 58-65
Radiant Scimitar (WW): 46-54

Thanks in advance. I'd hate to imbue a bunch of slayer weapons just to find out I'm gimping myself.

The short answer to the post question in no, see ornate ax sampires.
On the point of potions, I have a ornate ax sampire (LJ 120 tac, anat) and a fencing parry sampire (leafblade) and personally prefer fencing option, particularly w the new chiv change. (120 parry <--> 60 chiv for legandary pally) but mostly to use potions.

I have a mental block with remembering to drink potions until it's too late, so I dropped my 1-handed Leafblades and now use 2-handed Spears for the parry chance increase.

I run with 160 stamina and 30SSI on the weapon and rarely fall below maximum swing rate (I think stamina can drop as low as 110 before the swing rate falls to 1.5) I've also been able to chain as many as 11 Armor Ignores in a row with a spear, so I'd say it's a very effective weapon.

Anyway, my opinion is no; 2-handed weapons are just fine

Whenever my STR/DEX buff wears off, i just switch out my Ring for an Ecru Citrine Ring, use a "EquipLastWeapon" macro to switch to a 1 handed wep, chug Greater Strength and Greater Agility pot, then switch back to 2 handed wep, and switch out ring again. That simple.
