Player News 1999 Easter Eggs (Help Wanted)

Hello friends!

I'm doing research for the Stratics Wiki, and I've been having a tough time tracking down some info. I'm hoping the community can help me. I need to figure out all the verified original 10 hues of the 1999 easter eggs. A couple notes: Brightly Colored Eggs still drop and in the past have had their name change to "eggs" by stacking them, this bug seems to be fixed but many bugged ones exist. This means the old way of identifying them as "Brightly Colored Eggs" vs just "Eggs" for the 1999 versions is problematic.

The 1999 versions are just labelled "eggs". I have saved the picture from old Stratics showing the 10 hues of eggs, and I've reconstructed it using the hues I believe are correct. I'm hoping to confirm there are indeed eggs in the hues I've guessed at. Please see below for my reconstruction of the original egg image.

The hues I've guessed are the following:

TOP ROW: Hue 77, Hue 1645, Hue 89, Hue 5, Hue 11
BOTTOM ROW: Hue 1156, Hue 1392, Hue 53, Hue 21, Hue 67

Please note the bottom left hand hue has changed and is now a midnight blue hue, this was probably done at some point after 1999 which caused the blue speckled eggs to become solid blue.

If you could grab the hues at some point using the interior decorator tool, that would be great! I basically just need samples of hues from anything labelled "eggs" and not "brightly colored eggs". I need to see if the egg hues I guessed at actually exist.

Well the neither way give me about an hour or 2 and I'll fill the reference pot with whatever the **** I have. But I believe they are individually labeled eggs, just not whether known to be old.

In Europe I have a backpack full of brightly colored eggs. That's 13 different types of colors. I don't know how you can tell the type of color but anyway they are not just 'eggs' even if I got them at the beginning of the Vorpal

When hue is chosen, it tells you the hue of the object in the bottom left of your window.

28, 48, 68, 98, 55, 58

1st row: 13 - 113 - 19 - 33
2nd row: 28 - 48 - 55 - 58
3rd row: 63 - 68 - 89 - 98
4th row, deep blue stack on the left side: 3

4th row, right side: labeled "Eggs": 68 - I assume this is one of those hues you are looking for?

In my case, I was not able to reproduce that. The "Eggs" (hue 68, lower right) do not stack with corresponding hue 68 "Brightly Colored Eggs" in the 3rd row.
Also, if I unstack and restack the "Brightly Colored Eggs", they keep their label.

Thank you! I think the stacking bug used to work and could be fixed now, I haven't found enough same hued eggs to give it a try. I've edited the main post to reflect that this no longer works.

I have a box of 'eggs' and 'brightly colored eggs' so I grabbed the hues from just the regular marked eggs from the ones I have:

Mine where mixed together, i know this because i remember putting them all together in one box whenever i would get more from IDOC's and such.
there is a blue "3" that shows up as egg and also brightly colored egg, interesting.

bright eggs x11

68 (green)
58 (green)
63 (green)
48 (orange)
55 (yellow)
13 (purple)
113 (purple)
3 (blue)

0 = egg

the 3 of the left are 'egg' the rest are the 'brightly colored eggs'

I've had these for a LOOOONG time, in the bank with my box of old reagents and silverware! I put them in the same order you have them (but I somehow have an extra?) and these are the colors according to the deco tool:

Top: Hue 79, Hue 1645, Hue 88, Hue 5, Hue 11
Bottom: Hue 1156, Hue 1392, Hue 55, Hue 23, Hue 69

The odd one in the middle is hue 3, also just labeled eggs, no idea where it came from if not part of the set

Does anyone remember how the original 1999 eggs were distributed? I thought I remember one of our seers on Atlantic dropping them all around the world map. But it would make more sense they spawned on rabbits. I have a pretty good memory, but that was also 26 years ago.

1392, 55, 89, 11, 23,69, 1156, 79, 5, 1645

as I dont play on ATL and my set is on Sonoma it was not Seer dropped.
if memory serves they where on the bodies of the dead rabbits.
that being said a guild mate says he remembers them being on the ground.

I think Poo is right. It was a long time ago but I am pretty sure you had to kill bunnies and they were on their tiny little corpses. But there was a year where they spawned on the ground--not sure which is which.
