My Gawd, is treasure hunting so hard to you peeps that you seriously need this ingame? If you're gonna go to this length of foolishness, just program it where you hit the ground with it twice and it teleports the chest to your front steps, unlocked, untrapped, and with the loot of whatever mobs woulda spawned in small packs laying next to it.

I do not see the problem.... I mean, if locating a Treasure is already quite easy, then what would be the problem of having such a Vet Reward be made available ?

On a second thought, given the low difficulty already to locate a treasure, then I think such a Vet Reward would be too little to make it for a 15th Year active account. Probably it would be just fine making it a 8th Year or so Vet Reward.....

They are asking for ideas for the 15th year vet rewards aswell Christmas Items.

Translucent dye tub (makes robes and other items invisible when worn.) Robes might be OK for some but not everyone wants one but need to for the properties.

Teleport tiles that goes to marked locations or maybe even bracelets of bindings.
Teleport tile when you enter you can return if you step on the same location you have marked

15 year reward second house on low populated shards one more grandfathered.

A simple bag that you can leave blessed items in that stay in the bag after you resurrect and not all over your backpack.

A cloning device or single mirrored image that allows you to walk similar to a ghost in a new window or split screen that has no attack ability or any other ability other then for scouting.

Anniversary and Veteran
- Rune marking wand (Casts mark without needing magery skill. Uses mark scrolls to recharge)
- Thief's Spyglass (Scans a small tile area. If it finds a stealable that spawns in the area, it will tell you what can be found there and give you a time range when it'll appear again. To recharge the tool, target an item you have stolen and now have in your possession. The rarity of the stolen item will determine how many charges the tool gains. For example, targeting artifact rarity 1 stealables will require maybe 10 before you get a single charge but an artifact rarity 5 item would give you 1-2 charges)
- Sphynx Statuette (When double clicked, will give you your daily fortune/bonus like the sphynx would except free and in your own home)
- Statue of the Avatar (Similar look to the Ultima Ascension box cover. When double clicked, doubles the gains you get from virtues for a period of time)

- Recipe Book (Stores recipes and does not require you to consume a recipe permanently. You can lend recipes or swap them to other characters)

I don't know about you but I got a change of underwear when I switched to the EC. Now I'm not sure how great it is to go from the white diapers to the gray I'm not sure what to call them shorts... But it's a change none the less.

my suggestions for anniversary gifts:

1. a picknic basket that when clicked with give us a random sandwich like pastrami, turkey,capocola or roast beef(rechargable)
2. a large chocolate milk bottle cause you would need something to wash down your sandwich
3. napkins to whipe the mess off your face when eating said sandwich
4. a dessert like a canole or cheesecake
5. a motorcycle with storage to hold your picnick basket
6. a deedable picnic cloth to place randomly outside so you can have a picnic with said picnic basket stored in your motorcycle
7. a frisbee so you can play with your pet dragon/dog/ki rin/beetle/nightmare or any other pet that should be able to "fetch" to work off the caloroies from eating said sandwich
8. a picknic cloth dye tub so it doesnt have to be the same boring color each time you have a picnic
9. a deedable hammock so you can take a nap after eating your sandwich and playing fetch with your pet.

Vet rewards:
The Magic Door is a great idea opened with an uttered word like Moonglow/Papua which would apply to an existing door that would allow you to open without double clicking

A housing addition you could create either your own "farm", "stable", "closet" ??? everyone seems to want a second house or a 4th floor option (4th floor won't work for Castle or Keep owners) so the add of a room maybe 7 x 7 or 10 x 10 (castle tower size) that you could create what you desire most with a deed choice. Farm would allow the area to grow whatever plant resources like a garden bed. stable would allow you to stable all your pets in house, closet would add extra storage maybe 20% increase (or graduated with a higher % going to smaller starting houses so maybe 30% to under max lockdown houses and 15% to Castles)

Checkbook*, Alacrity book*, T Map book*, MIB container, Cookbook*, Gun cabinet (weapon locker), POF barrel/chest (can hold up to 100 uses/combines 10 use bottles, refillable and can be used from this container on armor or when imbuing), 1 lockdown or secure per container, maybe choice of 2 or 3 either home/bank use or backpack blessed use. I also would welcome anything that would in the classic client (not sure how it works in the EC) reduce the chaos in my backpack when I die and rez. *mentioned by others

A basket engraver which would allow you to engrave a holiday message on a crafted or artifact basket that could be given filled with baked goods/candies.

Halloween
A Halloween bola which would allow you in "safe zones/guard zones" to polymorph random people temporarily into monsters. Temporary effect and limited seasonal use.

Christmas
Sugarplum Fairy Powder which would allow you to throw it or sprinkle it on yourself or another which would change them into a "pixie" graphic
(used like snow piles, purely cosmetic, but can flutter/fly and in this form only give out "sugar plums" , "Festive Fruit platters" or "Cakes on stands"could make the powder only functional like christmas tree season say maybe thanksgiving to new years)

Santa's Elf balm or paint again something you could self apply that would turn you into a pointy shoed, jingle belled elf capable of giving out "engraved" personalized christmas cards with a choice of Merry Christmas to (click on character).... Happy Holidays to... Season's Greetings to..... and you can complete the with a love, sincerely or from and your name (menu choice) card comes in like 4 random colors green, red, ice blue or white (either again thanksgiving to new years use or maybe 5 balms per character use and poof)

Gingerbread house paint, the paint would convert your home OR a room into a gingerbread house(from thanksgiving to new years)

A new Christmas cookie recipe/s, maybe sugar cookies, chocolate chip, pfefferneusse, spritz (now that we can grow sugarcane, simple shape like a christmas tree, candy cane, circles about the size of bola balls)

Candy making recipe for stick candy (colors like the halloween rock candies but in the licorice graphic), fudge, rum balls(could use admirals rum or fished up rum)

Cookie cutters in assorted simple shapes which are a click and use one or two random cutters per character with the random recipe.

I liked the candy cane columns or pillars some one mentioned! One story tall, at least skull pole in width but smaller than log cabin columns. Or a choice of sizes

Tree skirt, a round deeded rug, christmas motif that you can place below your christmas tree deed

Tiered stacked set of gift boxes (3 sizes, 3 different colors) proportioned to sit under the existing christmas trees

Christmas tree tinsel/garland or ornaments (though this is likely a placement and coding nightmare)

Christmas tree flocking -you can snow cover or flock your tree (choice of edges or the whole tree becomes white)

Actually a new tinsel Christmas tree might be nice.. colored like the Silver Sappling... A silver Xmas tree..... I like that.... I also would like one with snow on it. These should of course come with and without lights so you can place them year round.

I'd like a sleigh I can ride... Hook on the back of a beetle or horse...

How about an IDOCers Lantern... A Lantern I can carry that when I get near a house that's in a state or decay it will change color depending on the state... being of course brightest when near an IDOC. That should be a nice vet reward.

A magic paintbrush that paints your portrait..... all you need is an easel, cloth, a few boards and dyes.

I want the large wall painting like is down in the NW corner of Travisty's lair. That should be added to the clean up reward items.

Item Replicator. 5 stones. Duplicates any target item in backpack - in Chocolate. Items retains color of chocolate used. Edible, giving temporary boost in base stats. Unique in that unlike other foods, it takes a lot to become "Full", also gives less stamina gain than a regular eaten item.

I always thought it would be good to have a Basement/dungeon Level added to homes. NOT saying it should server wise be located "under" my home but if done by giving you a Teleporter that looked perhaps like a trap door or something like a hole with a ladder sticking out of it... (could be variations of styles)... and that teleports you to a land like green acres.... only that's all black.... where "basements are... and EVERYONE gets one that is 32x32 one per account... Can't be that bad...... then make the walls somewhat like dungeon walls... with a few "finished" wall tile sets but these "dungeons/basements" would have say 5k storage and maybe 1200 lockdowns. Would be open to say 5 year vets.

I like this idea. I would add to this. Make this your own personal area that you can spawn monsters with different kinds of triggers traps and other actions you can put in the area.

Allows you to Assign / re-assign the exceptional resist crafting bonus on an item.

Maybe make it 5 chgs (enough for a suit most likely) and re-gen 1 chg per week or something.

This just makes it easier for Vets to make suits without spending hours making hundreds and hundreds of base items to get resists where you want them. And after all, if someone has made it that far, taking a little donkey work out of their game is fair enough no?

(Just occurred to me whilst making so far 700+ necklaces looking for X-2-2-X-X on a gargish necklace)

So I'd craft an item normally, then use the tool and say 5 - 0 - 0 - 8 - 7 and get a 6 - 2 - 2 - 10 - 10 Gargish necklace.


If that's not possible, then even just a Salvage Box that checks the resists of the items crafted, and any that match what you are looking for get put in your main pack. That way you can just craft and Salvage away until something drops in your pack. For items that cannot be recycled, like Woodland armour or Necklaces, there should be a context "empty box" entry.

The bank stone is a great idea, but make it accessable also from one's own boat.

I like the extra house for a 15 year account.
I like the basement adition, or as a second choice, add fith floor.
I like the idea of new resource giving deco, but I think they should be lower year choices.
Also:

Etheral Wings: Styles could be Demon, Feathered, Dragon, Pixie/butterfly. Transparent and dyeable with the retouch tool, and dyeable by all other pigments and tubs. Gives user the ability to "fly" as a gargoyle even if the character is elf or human. Wings appear when double-clicked, disappear the same, same function as an etheral mount, but appears on paper doll as well when in use.

Etheral Saddle: Allows you to ride ANY creature that you can tame and control (jewlery counts), provided it is reasonably large enough to support a person.

Pet Dye Tub: Works on live pets and ethys. Multi-page menu that covers Special, Metal, White, Black, leather and Furni tub selections.

Skill Tome: New art, large book, Animated to have both open and closed display, particle effects when opened, closed or used, deeded so it may display as being on its own podium or stack on furniture. Equivalent of 3 or maybe 5 soul stones, can hold that mant skills up to 120 points each. Operates as a skill stone, but 3 page menu.

But primarily, since so many templates, such as crafters, ninja, imbuers, etc.. really seem like 720 sill points are not enough, and swapping out skills on soulstones just to be able to gather your resources, imbue, make cannons, gargoyle beds, reforge, glassblow, masonry... Templates seem to be suffering from lack of skill points. I'd love to see a scaled bonus, starting at 7th year, of adding +20 skill points as a 1 time choosable reward. The max would then be at 15 years, you get to add +100 skill points to that character, for a total of 820 skill points availible to a 15 year vet character.


As for Holiday gifts, I suppose it would be too much to ask for new clothing art for humans and elves in the form of random recipes, and new hairstyles via new "coupons for hair restyling?" The clothing and hairstyle recipes could be random, named, one per recipe or coupon. That way, they could be sold or traded. Or they could be added to the Clean Up program. Either way, humans and elves haven't really had any new look options since Mondain's Legacy. I think it is way beyond time.

Personalized Spawners: Must be locked down in home. Can be turned on and off. May have different modes:
Spawn when anyone gets within a tile of the front of the home
Spawn only when highlighted guild members gets within a tile of the front of the home
Spawn when hilighted guild members and enemy faction members gets within a tile of the front of the home
Spawn when a specific hilighted guild's members or enemy faction's members gets within a tile of the front of the home (say you hypothetically only want a spawn to happen when brits but not shadowlords come near. Or you have many hghlighted guilds, but you only wish to chose some from the list)
Spawn only for your guild or yourself gets within a tile of the front of the home

The spawn could be scaled and reasonable. A couple of revenants, 6 skeletal knights, a handful of "raiders", like the towns have, a bunch of elven or human brigands, some red mages, etc. Or 1 bigger creature, like a bone dragon, or shadow wyrm, or a grobu.... really the choice would be best left to the devs to decide what a good balance is.

Drawbacks: A home owner or co-owner must be on for the spawner to work. If they log, spawn poofs. Home owner or co-owner cannot enter the home and is ejected from it if the spawner is triggered. Home owner or co-owner must be within a frame of the home. Whatever is spawned from the home cannot travel farther than 1 frame of the home. If lured away, it respawns. If killed, it is done. Home owner/co-owners cannot re-enter the home while the spawn is alive. Those friended to the home cannot trigger the spawner. If in Fel, the home owner/co-owners become gray when the spawner activates. Spawn remains active for around 15 minutes and has a cool-down period of 2 hours between spawns. Whatever is spawned by the spawner has the normal loot for the mob.

Really, just a spur of the moment thought, I may hate the idea later.

They have a point that the EA bigwigs do seem to only mention UO when talking about Star Wars, and while I normally would agree about the secrecy complaints (boy would I normally agree), in this case, whatever they have to do to sell Star Wars, I'm okay with. UO needs Star Wars to do well.

Seriously there is no like option strong enough for this. It would save a ton of time for me and reduce a ton of annoyance as well.

Vet Reward:
Magic Flying Carpet from Ultima 5. It acts like an ethereal but it lets you pass over gargoyle flight regions. As an aside, I think it'd be cool to have Pagasi too that let you fly gargoyle flight paths).

Halloween Idea:
Let the headless horseman make an appearance. That is the UO Headless who rides a horse.

Christmas:
Hmmm, this is a tough one. A virtue ornament christmas tree perhaps with an ankh on top.

Another enduring UO Christmas image I have is of Santa Clause flying through the sky, his sleigh being pulled by a red nosed dragon. Was this from ImaNewbie? Perhaps a holiday gift to do with that.
