It does make sense that ones resist skill would come into play more.at 120 resist, i should have a chance to resist evil omen. atleast a 70% or so chance
But as long as they allow trapped boxes to remove paralyze it's kind of a moot point. Don't ya think?

Resisting spells on the whole needs to be doing more, they need to come up with some way of making it more viable.
I agree! with no ar u get 43 resists... why when u put on ar this doesnt stack? or if u think the base of 43 is to high to be stacked then lower the base and let it stack. resist was always on every players template, a mage wouldnt leave the house w/out it. now its worthless:/

Its a skill that allows you to by pass a great deal of concentration in maxing resists in order to get mods. That would make it far from worthless. Its also nice not to get para ganked and have curse not be so extreme.
Resist spells has nothing to do with your armor resists.
A trapped box is better than resist spells for avoiding a para gank.
The lessening of a de-buff is the only valid point you made.

Actually it gives you 43 resists across the board (should be higher or stack). This is not awesome compared to a 70 suit, but it isn't bad for a newbie.
Yes because a box that can do half your life in damage if you are unlucky is much better than the skill when you are below half health.
Thanks for noting my valued point. I actually thought more about this and I tend to agree that resist is just a pointless skill compared to anything else. Hell, you are better putting parrying on a mage now than resist.
resisting spells skill is a million times more useful than a trapped box...
Reasons: A trapped box does not resist poison, does not prevent the curse spell, only gets you out of para so u need to constantly chug potions for the other things, also without resist you'll get stuck in every para field and have to keep using the box, if u die and it gets looted u become useless in a fight. Having resist allows you to just not worry about anything except omen para which can be removed with chiv or an apple. Also if you're 120 getting cursed wont hurt too bad

I have to say on my tamer pvper (I know tamers shouldn't pvp) I can chain cast paralyze on anyone without resist as fast as my pet can attack them. In this case if the person has resist I am screwed, but if they don't have resist they are getting some special love from my cu and are powerless to do anything about it.

Use your trapped box all you want...oh wait you can use it ONLY once. As soon as you use it I can reparalyze you in PvP. I cast it as fast as you free yourself. Thanks for thinking everyone else is an idiot and you are the only smart person. Then again this comes from the same person that thinks a mage can't beat a tamer in PvP because it matters how many hp the dragon has and that same dragon can do 300+ damage in 5 seconds (that made me laugh).

tbh colter dc should stay out of the pvp conversations, you clearly dont have a clue mate. Demonous is 100% correct.The only time a trapped box becomes over powered is when you are using a script... and thats a whole different issue

The trapped box don't require you to stop running, casting para does. So while you're over there casting para over and over I'm running circles around you beating you senseless

Necro curses lasting much less (Strangle and Painspike included)
PvM a bit easier
Corpse Skin will never get you lower than 40+ in Fire/Poison
Magery Curse lasts a bit less
I also assume it helps against Spellweave debuffs and maybe Nerve Strike? I seem to remember the Devs mentioning the latter being affected by Resisting Spells at some point.
What it SHOULD do is give you a chance to resist Evil Omen.

In my mind no spell or skill should require an item to be countered *AND* the opposite, like for instance when Poisoning comes out useless because of an item.
Said it before.. I'm still supporting the idea that either the Devs disable combat everywhere in UO for a week or month and re-invent it as a whole or we're stuck with band-aid fixes that further complicate things- and bug the game more than help it.

43 is all resists is basically useless so I don't think that's a valid point at all. Who in their right mind goes out to PvP with an all 40's suit?
orange petal won't do anything against dp, im not fond of trapped boxes i wish ea would just get rid of them, also i've been pvping for over 7 yrs i know whats what believe me, and u would stand no chance in hell against me, trust me kid

So I am para'd. I cant move. Yet I can trigger a trapped box. Hmm. Thats what I hate about parts of this game. No logic.

Well actually I think tram fel has the game logic. However the whole creation of it was flawed. But thats another thread or 5000.
