So it´s been how long since we got the answer that those were for sale soon?
Some months? *sighs and feels like :bdh: *
You see, the irony behind those items is, that there are a lot of players (including me) that want to throw their money at EA, but still there´s no official answer WHEN we will be able to purchase them!

Please, please, please, can we get an concrete answer, as when we can expect those items on sale?

I found a way to buy them but I havn't decided to or not yet. (No i cannot share a link)

So really UO America (Where the game was first started) Didn't have jack for 11th anniversary ideas? I mean since this big token hit they were sooo caught off guard how come they didn't have anything for the anniversary before this? Were they even planning to? and DON'T tell me the gifts like the spawning academic books and hitching posts were in the makes before they found this out. The champ spawn decoration drops...don't even slap a 11th anniversary sticker on that because I'm sure that was in the works long before the 11th anniversary was thought of.

So they didn't plan to do anything for it and got caught with their pants down.

All i've seen over the past years is UO America go to the wayside and UO Japan flowering their customers with all the spoils. It's nice that your loyal original customers get passed by time and time again. I guess UO japans team spends more time working on UO then Americas because they seem to be able to come out with these great things for their clients but ours seem to have a failure to launch. :owned: :violin:

So where the heck is my 11th anniversary token?!?!?

(And I do believe this will be remembered as the biggest mess up and worst anniversary for Ultima Online.

My guess is they don't have someone who can edit their web page so they can sell the items online.
When they get someone to do it then they will sell it?
Maybe?

It has certainly been a while since our last hint of info.

Yeah, several of us did that the past few weeks. I guess mongbats are higher on the importance scale.

Great work there, Chrissay. Keep your customers informed. /rolls eyes

edit: As a realistic aside, remember its Saturday. So just understand that they, like us, get weekends off. :)

Yes, perhaps they do. Or perhaps there is no new information to pass on.

Not that I want to discourage your impatience :)

Unfortunately I do believe you are right and I've been around for every UO Anniversary. :sad4:

I am just so perplexed as to why they won't give us any information. Two months past when we were supposed to have them available to us and they continue to ignore most all questions posed to them regarding this. While at the same time anyone who was able to get their hands on them are making bookoos off of transferring them to other shards. It's just not right! :yell:

Again, I think most of us would just like a solid answer on WHY it is being held up... which for some reason we are not getting.

I still think that the delay boils down to lack of manpower and resources. The layoffs in California that preceded the move to Virginia may have included whoever was on the UO team and had the responsibility of coordinating with EA's marketing department. After the move happened and folks settled in, we heard some hints that the UO team now includes some folks in Japan. We also heard that there was an agreement with the Japanese arm of EA to delay rolling out the 11th anniversary items in other countries while EA Japan (or whatever it's official name is) used them as promotional items. Not long after that, EA announced that there would be additional layoffs. I got the impression from the last announcement I read that those layoffs are not yet completed.

It doesn't hurt to keep asking the question. However, it very well could be that the people we normally hear from just don't have an answer for us because of all the uncertainty these days. Have some patience and some faith, folks. The next anniversary's still at least six months away. We also know that the UO team is busy working on the SA expansion. My guess is that somehow SA will roll out as a combination 11th-12th anniversary package and as a result the team will try to give it just a little bit more sparkle to compensate for what many might perceive as a "missed year." However, because no one these days really has the luxury to re-do things because of mistakes, they are probably being a bit cautious and slow about it so they get it right the first time.

Again, though, Tina... the best we can do is guess (like all the things you wrote above) because not one single member of the team has done anything to speak up on the subject.

Why should we have to guess? They promised, they didn't deliver and now they aren't even forthcoming about the why's.

Seems like if your company/product is not doing well, the last thing you would want to do is to prevent a new revenue stream from starting up.

If they are selling these things, for real money...then it would seem that NOW would be the time...if they are in need of money.

No?

Good grief........ Are there like 25 posts on this subject alone ...... everyday like 3 more threads on it.....

The horse is dead...... :bdh::bdh: Quit beating it please!

Listen I know your frustrated we all are...... we all would like to get the tokens.... by the time they actually get around to putting them here in the states I think I'll faint..... or I'll look something like a skeleton complete with cobwebs......

However posting about it 30 times a day will not make it happen..... Nor will it get you much of a response... they already responded to it ages ago..... and so far still nothing.... give it a rest already will ya?

If your product is not doing well but you are using a limited budget to work on what you hope is a major improvement that will keep current customers happy while drawing in new ones, I think I would try to economize and bundle the promotional stuff into one package. Maybe throw a few freebies at the current customers to reward their loyalty, but definitely bundle as much as possible into one package to make it as impressive as possible.

I assume you are talking about SA. I agree...they should be concentrating on making SA the absolute best that it can be.

But these items already exist. All they have to do is put them up for sale and let people have them. This should be doable in like a half-day.

SA is not the reason.

Now, if they have some idea in mind ... like, 11th Anni items free with SA purchase...then fine. But they should just say that.

It might be well to bear in mind that these items are for selling, therefore in the hands of the marketing department. The Devs can do little other than ask about them, which isn't their job. Their time is presumably spent working on the next publish, SA and other related tasks. Better to address your questions to Joanne and Chrissay.

Whether they can get a straight answer out of the marketing people is another question of course.

Okay well then the marketing department needs to get on here hehe. As for the above comment about give it a rest. Once you back down your position they wont care. If you keep it in the eyes of the community over and over and your player base is that upset they might be smart enough to do something..... I did say MIGHT BE! :scholar:

I do not have much faith in the UO team as I use to. Perhaps because I am use to the 90's UO team.

Yeah, but keep in mind that, no matter how much I complain, I'm very aware that at the VERY least this isn't UO circa 2004-2006.

SOON people. Geez. No other info is necessary. :hahaha:

(Flora points out that when Flora was dealing with the public in an old job, Flora ALWAYS had info for the customers, good, bad or "I'm not sure, but I'll find out". Flora also worked for a company that knew how to treat said customers).

Ah........ but flora needs to keep in mind that EA games knows that most of us who play right now play because we are addicted...... they know we are UO addicts...... so therefore they know they need to NOTHING at all and we will continue to give them our money because we CAN NOT quit.....

After reading the comment on us being addicts I got this picture in my head.

Drug Dealer--EA
Buyers-------Us.
Drug---------UO

Say a drug dealer starts producing a drug thats a lesser quality than their customers are used to. Wouldn't most buyers just go to another dealer that's selling better stuff?

You would think so, but sadly there is no drug like UO... even if it's worse quality than it used to be :D
