I know that 120 gives me better chance of WoD but is it that noticably different? im deciding wether to go with 120 spellweaving or 120 magery from 115..obviously there's a huge $$ difference but i have both scrolls and i can cast most things no prob with mage, same with spellweaving so just wondering if anyone noticed a huge diff from 115 to 120 SW...thanks!

If you have both scrolls, and don't mind using them both... what about doing 117.5 for each?
You'll have a 10% increase in chance to cast WoD between 115 and 120.
An 8% increase in chance to cast 8th level spells between 115 and 120.

You might find 5 skill points somewhere else in your template to sacrifice too, or somewhere that those extra 5 points might benefit more.

Another thing to consider is that failing WoD once costs several hundred points of damage toward your looting rights, whereas failing EV or EE costs maybe 50 (a couple of hits from the summoned creature.

A third thing to consider is that spellweaving training will take a lot longer than magery training.

A fourth thing to consider is that you're most likely to find other weavers to get a circle with if you have 100 spellweaving, since you'll be able to get one with people who have anywhere from 80 to 120 skill. If you have 120 skill, you'll only be able to circle with people between 100 and 120.

another thing to consider is beyond increased chance of casting WOD, spellweave's spells often have bonuses that are based on increments of 24. So 120 gives a greater bonus to most of the spells like gift of renewal, attunement, empowerement etc. than 115 would. If you are going to use the full range of weaver abilities, I think it is a no brainer to favor 120/115 SW/mage rather than the other way around.

And also consider that you can get +magery skill items but not +spellweave items. Crystalline ring is great for weaver mages, but don't forget you also get benefits from 4/6 casting for spellweave. I think a good setup is ornie, crystalline, scrappers and museum shield. Would give you the best 120/120 of both.
