10th Year Reward Owning A Second House.

i have 3 accounts my oldest account has just turned 7 years old, my second oldest account is about to turn 6 years old and my youngest account has just turned 2 years old so i have quite a ways to go. i was thinking of a 10th year reward you can get once your account is 10 years old or older. one possability is a special house placement tool that enables us to place a second house for any account 10 years and older. that tool can be used over and over again but act just like a normal house placement tool with the same rules but using that tool will be the only way to place a second house for our account as long as our account is 10 years old or older. where we place our second house should be up to us as long as its at a empty spot that houseing is allowed on. as for me i only play one shard because i dont have time to play more then one shard and i dont really like fel so i would put my second house on the same shard i play in a non fel area.

But seriously, I'd do it even if I was limited to a 7x7... it'd be nice to have the opportunity to place a plot that could be used for insignificant NPC buildings like guard houses and the like.

Thanks to the grandfather rule some of us have a house in Fel and in Trammel, would we be able to get a 3rd house?

hi yes i posted this on the Ideas Den before the reason why posting this and other ideas of mine on both the Ideas Den and U.hall is because U.Hall gets many more reads and i was told theres a much a higher percentage chance that the dev teams will read the ideas and consider them on U.Hall then there is on the ideas Den. so i am slowely adding some of my ideas i had on the ideas den to U.Hall in hopes there will be a better chance for the ideas to be implented it cant hurt. I really feel we have enough houses in UO, special large ones. I am a 10 years vet too.

Better would be to let all players choose to have one large house or 2 small/medium houses.
If your mainhouse are max 144 tiles, you can place one more of max 121.

That will allow all to choose one big house or 2 small/medium houses. It will give around the same lockdowns as in a tower or a 18x18. Only having a keep or a castle will give you more lockdown from one house than from 2 houses on an account.

I don't like alot goodies for veterans, that make new players feel they can't complete. Deco stuff to show you are a vet is ok but anything that gives you advantage in the game is not ok.

This will allow the player to play 2 shards or have a Fel and a Trammel house.

i like the main post ,but this idea you have would exclude me being as i have a castle. and i happen to think my accomplishments in game and the time and money I spent are worth the same ,at the least, consideration as any other 10+ vet.

I dislike the idea because ten years is way way to long to wait to have something like that for one and two housing is already crowded as it is.

I could see giving a tenth year account double storage capacity on currently owned homes but allowing someone with an older account to hog more than one house spot is a bit much.

I really disagree with allowing people to own grandfathered houses but unfortunately they had no choice because people didn't want to let go of things they already had at that point in the game.

They did away with letting people own more than a single home because there was not enough housing space in the game they added new land to accommodate more housing because there was not enough space for people to have homes so why would giving a second home to vet accounts be a good idea?

[/ QUOTE ]Well this 6 plus year vet has been desperately asking for a second house (even paid for) for years. I would be mega bummed if I was not able to get one simply because of account age.

How about this (taking into consideration that 720 stat max at year 4):

5 plus years = 7x7
6 plus years = 8x8
7 plus years = 9x9

etc,.

How bout only if the account is held by the ORIGINAL OWNER. Not a vet account sold to someone else, and the second house must be on a different shard. And ANY black marks on the account for scripting or violations of TOS cause the vet award be forfeit.

Oh, and you have to choose between a white polar bear or the house.

You're asking for a very big vet award there. Basically EA makes money on all the folks that pay for "householder" accounts... so you'd be asking them to give up cash money. Maybe asking for a free House Storage/7th character upgrade token would be more practical.

Like I mentioned above, I'd love to be able to place small plots for things like guard towers and the like. Stuff I would NEVER waste a full account on, even for roleplay, at the present.

It's well to assume an account thats at ten years doesn't have a shack. So at the ten year mark that accounts held house gains a two lvl basement of equal storage. To keep it simplistic it would be standard and not customized.
The basment teleporter would be something that is placed like and moved like the trash barrel. The teleporter would have a security setting like a normal one. The basement porter would be a unique color and design so someone entering the house would have no question of account held house age.
Doesn't have to be large in size. Look at any castle or keep owner and you'll see the main center room is the only living space. Rest of the home is deco.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a home on another shard thats Home &amp; not living out of a friends place or living out of only your bank! Nice lil perk as a 10 yr reward

Rather be able to place a second house at any age. Even if it's separate shards. Couple years ago they had an email survey about paying for a second house. Of course it wasn't commented on here by devs (that I know of) even though it's been brought up a few times by posters.

The problem with more floors is, they can be a really pain for your neighbours who have house north or west of yours.

Second, why would we need all this floors?
A basement would make more sense to me and would not annoy your neighbours.
Still, it should have nothing to do with revards.

Ill explain it since no took the time to....

When i first started playing i placed my house in Fel, a short while later the magical carebear Trammel was published, each shard had a different housing Date/Time that players could place (one night it was Large Homes the next night small homes) so we all stood around in the empty spots we wanted in Trammel, and placed.

If you already owned a house in Felucca and were able to place one in Trammel then the Felucca house became grandfathered and both houses were able to be refreshed (by using the door) and neither were condemned.

Players with Grandfathered houses (2 houses on same account...same shard) can not transfer houses, deed their houses to resize or place another house.

It is a blessing and a Burden at the same time because yes we own 2 properties but alot (most) have less storage because of it. I have a L-Shape in Felucca (prime spot year and years ago now no neighbors for thousands of miles) and a small 7x7 3 story marble patio (classic)

I could just drop both houses and place an 18x18 but i like my Grandfathered houses they are junky now but it has sentimental value

I really miss the old days when we had multi houses on multi shards! Just hated the part that they had to be refreshed to not lose them, so if you went on vacation or were deployed for military training or you had bad weather, internet connection lost, etc. you had a good chance of your house dropping on you.

Today I see so much room for placement of smaller homes on shards we have charactors on, [forced to remain at Inns] and wish for those days when we could place a small home on another shard and not worry about our towers, keeps, castles that we older players now have today.

So if EA came out with a token the allowed us to place a home on another shard I would be all for it. There a few places I have seen where a log cabin, or villa would look really nice on several shards I know, yet all the normal players of that shard have 18x18 or larger there so these prime areas are empty now. And it would get our charactors out of the Inn.

I think it would be really nice to offer a second house (maybe restrict the size of the second house based on years... like at year 5 you can place a 2 story or something).

The problem is, EA is likely not to go for it, since they would loose several paid accounts.

I would love the idea, but I think a full house would be too much of a bonus. (Yes, I'm over 10 yrs). Perhaps a secondary plot with very very limited lockdowns, enough to decorate and that's about it. This would help a lot of players add flavor to their towns easier as well as make "rp locations". That's the one thing I hated in the past was paying for accounts to hold homes that basically are there for rp purposes.. a temple, jail, inn, etc and never had need of the storage in it.

I have to say no. This is just another thing that the newer players would not have. Something like this (that could be used by all UO players) does not need to be resticted to just 10+ accounts. It should be open to all or none. Vet rewards shoudl be something that is not unbalancing. A cannon deed, wep engraver, ethys, vet robes/cloaks, etc. Another 3k lockdowns is.

Can't we just have a changed housing system where everyone gets 5000* storage and then can split this between as many houses as they want. This might be 1x 18x18 or several 7x7. You get the idea.



Castles / Keeps / Grandfathered stuff isn't affected.

What about a 7x7 house deed, one use per deed, can drop it at anytime to place another but would need another deed, and only one at any time per account.

This would be great for someone who plays multiple shards.

If this went into play id like so see some restrictions on this also, Like you must place them in the outskirts or in the smaller sized land areas. I wouldnt want to see them placed where peps might be able to increase the size of thier normal houses. I'd mucher rather see some houses in the non-flat areas. Ive always been a Fel player and it's crazy to see where there were houses all along vesper to cove up the coast and all around Yew (not the gate but the rest of it along the coast) and all the islands and now its empty.

I would also suggest that it be half the size (9x9) max with 5 floors. Guard tower, storage, whatnot.
