100% CPU Usage LAG !SOS!

I REALLY need help! I have tried everything trying to fix this problem.

Here's the deal. When I start the uo client my cpu jumps up to 100% and doesnt stop until I close the program. The 100% usage is lagging my character to an almost crawl (it's brutal).

I have read all the other posts on stratics in regard to this issue but nothing helped. I have tried changing the priority in process but that didnt help. I have defraged my hard drive swept and all the other disk cleaning programs. I have also "run compatible" OS to try to fix it, but had no success. I have a newer computer that definetly has enough horsepower to run a 1997 program.

I'm sorry for the long post but I am desperate! Is there any computer guru that could help me?!?

Thank you,
Britt

1st off ya need to give the guys & gals here a lil basic info so they can help ya out.
They'll need:
CPU Type/Size
OS
Amount of Memory
HD size
Video Card Type/Size
Firewall/non Firewall
Program's Poss running in background (AV's Etc)

That's a few that can help immensely in starting to get to the bottom of the problem. GL

ps: you might also try posting here in the Tech Forum also. http://vboards.stratics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=455

Type in the following command and see if your problem goes away.

-reducecpu

only works if you have uoassist. I'm doing this from memory its been a while since I've played.

I have said for years about memory issues in UO. It'll start small then BAM 88% cpu usage 500 MB mem ... REALLY? 500mb memory something in there is not getting flushed..

That's nothing. The other day, on TC1, I think one of the devs was stress testing by placing thousands of crystals in Luna. Well, my EC memory usage shot up over 1GB and the lag was horrible.

Ironically, I think they helped me figure out why my game tends to freeze in large crowds. I believe I have some dodgy ram because I had a nice sinusoidal rhythm to the lag with fits of starts and stops. It smacks of an issue with timing, which degraded over several hours; probably memory related.

But UO is supposed to use more memory/CPU as it needs it and less as it doesn't...isn't it?

CPU: Intel Celeron 2.60 GHz (E Machine)
Ram: 1.5 GB
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
HD: 70 GB, w/ 50 GB free
VideoCard: GeForce 6600 GT (core clock 500 MHz/ Memory 128 MB)
Firewall: None
Programs running in background: None

I also tried the "-reducecpu" command and that did not seem to help either. No empty tile of Ultima Online appearing either.
Sorry for such the troubles...
