1/3 casting?

It should probably be obvious to me but it is not. Im not really sure what this term or others like it truly mean. Is it +1 Faster Casting out of +3 FC possible slots available to a warrior? 4/6 means 4 of 6 used for a mage perhaps? Currently I have FC1 on my wep and FC1 on my sheild. It seems to make a big difference for my Chiv/Bushido warrior. I looted a ring with FC2 on it but other useless mods (to me). Is this mod more important than the 7 dex I get from the ring Im currently using?
Faster Cast Recovery is useless to my warrior right? I find tons of that (ofcourse).
I know you guys dont have to share info with anyone, but these forums are my lifeline for info on UO. Sometimes the posts are so acronym heavy I cant tell what language Im reading. :).
Anywhere I can go to maybe print a glossary of terms? I had one I made up in notepad that I would cut and paste too but lost it 2 harddrives ago.
Any help appreciated, Thanks.

That number is used for the combination of Faster Casting (FC) and Faster Cat Recovery (FCR), given as FC/FCR. The maximum possible FC is 4 for Chivalry, unless your magery is 70.0 or higher then it is capped at 2. FC is capped at 2 for Magery regardless of your skill in it. FCR is capped at 6 for every casting skill.

Faster Casting modifies how long it takes you to cast a spell (there are ways to lower your FC as well as raise it). Faster Cast Recovery modifies how long you have to wait before casting the same or another spell.

If you rely on Chivalry to heal, then you will find it very beneficial to have high FC/FCR. Close wounds is a fast spell. If heal with bandaids and only use Chivalry for the occasional Enemy of One (EoO), then you don't really need it.

Here is a link to the Magic Items Properties List, the acronyms are usually pretty simple to figure out.

Also I found this Lingo & Slang list with a quick search on the main page. It looks a little old, and does not have the item properties on it. But it might help you out.
