Because the developers refuse to answer when asked about an end date so speculation runs wild
I forget where I saw it (posted somewhere on here or Forums) but I remember seeing an end date of 11.30.24 on some of the content. I feel like it was something community manager posted (maybe a newsletter??) but honestly I can't remember and wasn't able to find it when doing a quick check. Tbh, there have been several things related to UO messages (ie past Newsletters) that aren't super easy to find so it's possible I didn't search the correct place.
From my standpoint, maybe it was just for the graveyard / pumpkin patch stuff that had the 11.30 end date but again I can't remember the specifics and kind of thought that they would be ending the earlier content for people to focus on the next part of the content. It's almost an embarrassment of riches, so to speak, if we have mares/Manifestation/Invasions/Artisan Fest/Krampus all running at the same time....especially when we went half the year with absolutely nothing going on.
The mares started with the Shadow's Awakening event which has come and gone. However, the mares remain active.
Pure speculation here, but I would have to say that they're selling way too many totems to shut the mares down on schedule.
If I had to guess as to an end date on the mares. It will be one second after I purchase another 5000 Sovs!
But most likely it will be the end of the event arc series "Echoes of the Blighted Realm".
Shadow's Awakening was just the first event in the series.

Yesss. I am curious if there is a message or warning for when you have bought maximum stable slots and you "accidentally" purchase another one...they are shard-bound I think, so you could send it to someone else...but lol

Shadows Awakening is still active, the annual halloween stuff is no longer active.

There is NOT a warning when you buy a stable slot token and you are at the max. I forgot that 120 Vet would give 3 stable slots (it was stoned) so I bought one thinking I could get 3 more and NOPE! After I purchased it and tried to use the token it told me I was at the max.Yesss. That said, the token is ACCOUNT BOUND (not Character bound) so you could toss it onto another char (maybe one that you hold extra pets on).
You are correct. I got the two mixed up.
An end date would be a nice gesture considering we are throwing money into sovereigns for the totems. Nobody wants to get caught holding an overabundance of sov's
