Ninja Hiryu

Tamed a new hiryu and I want to put AI and Ninjitsu on him. I know hiryu's can only add 2 things.

Question: Can I add AI and then FWW/ninjitsu or will that not work? I want the "full version" of ninja so is AI, then ninja my only option? No FWW?

I’m interested in this too. I want to try a Chiv/FWW lesser hiryu. I have one all built out on the cah planner, but still questioning whether I can add FWW and then chiv and scrolling both ninjitsu and chiv to 120.

I know that you can do that, however the ninja will be the passive version, so the pet will not hide or do the ninja moves. You can still scroll up ninja though to increase the FWW damage.

Pretty sure I just answered my own original question. I want the full version of ninja, and FWW would be nice too, but I'm pretty sure I'm only going to be able to add armor ignore and ninja (for full version).

I had a ninja hiryu about a year ago when I first came back to UO, but let him go to make stable space, now I want another one for my 2nd tamer.

Follow up question: fire beetles are tokono pets, yes? Could I do RC+Ninjitsu or once I pick RC does poison become the only option?

Or could I do AI+FWW+Ninja on a fire beetle?

I think if you were to add AI then Ninjitsu it would come along with the FWW. I did something similar on a lesser: I added AI then Bush and it came with WW

FWW doesn't come free with ninjitsu-it did at one time in the past, but no longer.
WW still comes free with Bushido though.

If I chose AI, then FWW it will only be the passive version of ninja.

Well that's too bad. I was hoping to do another lesser with that setup. Oh well, just the full Ninja set of skills seems like it would be pretty fun on a hiryu.

That's correct. AI + Ninjitsu, or FWW + Ninjitsu would be your two options. Make sure to add the Special Move first, otherwise you won't be able to add it after you add the Magical.

This build will work. Add FWW first, then Chiv. You can scroll both to 120, even though the Ninjitsu is passive (it still matters in the damage calculation for FWW).

Fire Beetles are non-magical, so even though they are a Tokuno native, they cannot get Bushido or Ninjitsu, only Poisoning and the combat magicals (piercing, slashing, bashing, wrestling, battle defense).

Sometimes I hate it when I'm right. Oh well, I'll put AI + Ninja on him. Just feeling kind of bored in game lately, sometimes it's fun to make unusual pets. Plus I got a nice colored hiryu this time, last year the one I made was the standard color. This will be my 3rd hiryu for my 2nd tamer. The others have AI/Chiv and Goo/Bushido.

Not sure what else I want to make. Been thinking about training up a lesser pet like some tiny bird or farm animal or maybe a gaman. I have a black cu with decent stats that I have no plans for...maybe I could try something unusual with him.

Have you tried a Bane Dragon yet? Supposedly fun..

Rune beetles are one of the exceptions to the 'rule', that a pet can only have one magical ability ... so if you would add ninjitsu or any other magical ability to a rune beetle, you would inactivate magery AND poisoning ...
