Hmmmm. I see.

However, I dont quite understand how that's helpful... outside listing out rare items for sale. Rare/rare. Not like yellow special fishing nets. There is only 1 yellow... or red... or other colors. People wanting colored nets know what colors are on offer.

Any suggestion on why this new feature is?

Is this new or did I somehow miss the creation of this?

It tells you the hue number of any item you click on, which is a really cool addition!

Patch notes stated that the CC would get the ability to derive hue numbers. I was expecting an option item, but this makes good sense! <dopeslaps self> Whatever am I saying ... Devs doing something logical! ACK! :gee:

Gift boxes and other gifts come in different and rare colors. Some of which may be difficult to distinguish. Do wish it worked on pets but beggers can't be choosers lol.

CC users had to use EC just for this option, so CC users asked for a way for CC users to be able to do it too.
Also if you were collecting the Titan invasion armor, there was 3 of each color armour and very hard to distinguish them.
I just put them on mannequins and didn't separate them out.
This addition will make it so much easier to make them all match...
and the stuff that doesn't match I can get rid of

Really??!! Sweet! Thought the item had to be locked down!
It did initially on test center (have to be locked down), but they fixed it when it went to Baja/Origin. You can now use the interior decorator tool anywhere, and if you are outside a house you will only get the Hue ID option.

For anyone not familiar with getting the Hue of a pet, you will see Hue 0 often, this just means the pet is the base model color. This is also why two different pets with the same Hue ID may look slightly different, because the hue is an overlay on the base model.

I tried getting a hue ID on an ethy in my pack. It returned a 0 ID which makes sense since it is ethereal. I played with it and love the dickens out of it!

I'm sorry. I'm waiting for post after post and I still see zero evidence why this is needed... at all.

It cant be totally pointless, right? Its not like we have dye tubs that are set by these special numbers.

It is a measurement tool; it measures hue by assigned number: it's exact to that.

If you do not care for hues or exacting measurements of hues, that is fine: it means, plainly and obviously, that you have no use for this; that said, many others do.

Thanks for chiming in w/ your concerns.

Well! We dont learn if we dont ask question, do we?

I just dont see any practical use for this where we could use far better tools otherwise.

For example... how about a magnifier vs. having to almost put your eyes on the screen. Or even a "Max Raise" vs. having to do it a dozen times.

I remember a few rare times we had dye tubs on test type shards that would allow you to type in numbers. I'd really LOVE to see this in game, but it would tank the pigment market. As long as they get real money for selling those, they will never improve tubs. Its only logical. :)

Today I am trying to find the color I used to dye some carpets. I used the new hue finder, got number. Changed dye tub until I got the correct number. It has a use. When the rare gift boxes show up, whoa way more use. So tyvm devs.

I'd love this hue ID to show up on vendor inventories - say you want to buy a certain colour thingamajig, and you think you've found it on a vendor; how awesome would it be to know the hue ID before you buy? I've ended up with a ton of items I didn't want or need because I couldn't match the colour precisely - at the moment one has to buy things on the chance it is the hue you want.

This could be any easy thing to add, don't you think?

So there is no reference that cross-references a hue number to a color anywhere?
