mana regen effective cap for items, 30 or 31?

I did a few searches trying to figure out what is the effective cap for mana regen on items... there doesn't seem to be a conclusive answer out there, one that has the mathematics on its side... or perhaps it has eluded me...

i have seen a stratics calculator which limits the inquiry to 30... there is also a knuckleheads/ drackenfels calculator which does the same... however, the calculator on uoguide reads until 31 before it starts giving the same response no matter how high one goes in entering ones item mana regen numbers........

so my question is, what is the actual effective cap for mana regen on items? is it 30 or 31? thanks

that is because there is no true cap...... it is the law of diminishing returns....the more you have the less each addition pt gives you. The effective cap is around 30....so 30-31 the difference isnt significant.

after 30 MR there is little to no gain in mana regen so it's pointless to add more beyond it.

Had this saved... from a DEV once upon a time... Short version is for 31 Mana Regen you get a very small fractional increase over 30 MR... Sqrt of 30 is 5.47... & the formula is HARDCAPPED @ 5.5
