Buying/Selling/Giving away accounts

Legal or illegal now?
I recall a uo.com update during the account migration giving me the impression (if not outright saying) that the transfer of accounts between players was illegal.

Like most big words used in small print, legalieze. Covers their butt on any failing of their product or how they present it, that may give you discomfort. With the free sites / sales sites out their having free range. Due to the $$$$$ they never go after them. Just never know when they shoot the suits at you to make an example out of you to others.

Also tells you they paid some suits to make up all those big words in small print. Dont want you pasting and using on your own game or selling a few word changes of it to someone else.

We don't own one pixel. They gladly charge us to borrow them. Someday the Code Mages and the Bean Counters will press brain matter together and then there will be a real game.

So if someone got hacked bad, and someone else offered to give them a spare account they weren't using, illegal, also to do on the boards i guess. give sell assign? not just accounts but i think that includes game time codes now as well.

I think a rewrite/revert is needed, sounds like a twitter session to me

If you're in North America, at least, it looks like you now have several options for paying for game time codes (one-, three-, and six-month versions) and anything else available from the Origin store: EA Cash Card, five types of credit/debit cards, something called ClickandBuy, and PayPal. I remember reading that some people were having trouble using credit or debit cards to buy the game time codes, so hopefully one of the other options will work for them so they don't have to try to buy them anymore using game gold.

Would help, though, if EA actually got their terms and conditions sorted out clearly - I too am pretty certain there's no way to transfer accounts legally any more, but they have some really poor wording in the ToS that could be read to imply there IS still a way - regarding terminated accounts,

Which would seem to imply in other cases, you DO have such a right .... For simple consistency, that condition should not be there.

Well it is EA after all. On a different note they just won a very prestigious award by "The Consumerist" website beating out Bank of America in a 64% / 36% split (link below).
