So like 3 weeks ago I'm up at the cottage. My laptop sucks, so no UO. Thinking about getting an Alienware Alpha for something small to cart around... anyway. So for like 10 days I don't play. It dawned on me today it's been about 4 weeks since I logged in. Thinking I should I checked on my 3 houses just to see if they're standing. They were!

But I was kinda feeling UO, so I come here and look around. Check the Stratics news. There's nothing going on. Hasn't been anything going on in a long time. Back in like February we got some plants or something? Can't really remember. Before that I remember we got our Christmas gifts really early way before Christmas. So it seems to me nothing has been going on in a long damn time.

This is no way to run an airline. Just saying. Ya gotta pump out a little content every now and then. I realize they're supposedly working on an expansion or something. Considering they're probably gonna want 20 bucks for it, I'm not sure if I'm even gonna be wanting that. I was so excited about High Seas then I see it takes like 45 minutes to reload a cannon, so that left me real flat. Gotta drop us a dime every now and then. I dunno, a little post about making flaming chariots or something. Gotta toss out a little content here and there. Give us something to cling onto please *sigh*

This. The clickfest to even make the goods to go fire a cannon is crazy, much less the time to reload one. Did nothing but fish quests for quite some time, looking for the elusive fishing PS...then they admitted the system was broken.

So I won't be buying anything else, till all yall beta test it for me for a month or so

According to Mesanna, they are busy working on the expansion and really don't have much time for anything else.

However, a note every week or two would go a long ways towards keeping the playerbase interested, and dare I say it...excited.

We still know next to nothing about the expansion itself, nor has there been a single piece of propaganda advertisement to stir any interest from new or ex-players. Something should be posted to uo.com every week, lest people coming across the website think its dead...instead of coming up on its 18th anniversary...

the dev team is re-evaluating some of the high seas content. the catskills meet & greet was tonight (just ended a few minutes ago) and someone asked about making some changes to high seas loot & something else related to high seas. sorry i don't have any specifics because people type in a yellow font color which is damn near impossible to read from the journal. anyways mesanna agreed they needed to make adjustments to high seas.

UO has been going six month to a year between content additions, and theres an xpansion coming soon(summer, fall?) so doubt well see anything till then.

Thats EA for you. A monthly subscription for a 17 year old game AND on top of that they want cash for an expansion.

There are plenty of F2P games out there that pump out expansions far more regularly than UO, and with better quality and at no cost.

UO is a dinosaur, and we know what happened to dinosaurs.

I'm kinda in standby mode till they come out with something new to do. I still log on to do a couple events here and there. Other than that there's nothing in game I feel like doing.

Last night I logged on with the intention of making a new suit. I needed mats for a few things . One of them was mats for damage on jewelry . After that I just shut down uo because I'd rather pull my fingernails out than go do rat spawn or lumberjack in ter mur for hours on end.

I ended up watching the hawks / wizards game instead.

I get rather bitchy about the art in general (this is going somewhere eventually). Angles, the art in general doesn't seem to fit in, colors, stuff like that. But the ships and such in High Seas are actually rather good. They're rather impressive looking. So I think i know what happened. It might have taken a long time to do the art for that expansion. So the coders are hanging around waiting for the art to get done. So while they were waiting they kept coding and coming up with crazy ideas. The longer they waited on the art they just kept coding and coding. "Let's make axle grease for the cannon wheels!". "What do you think about cannon balls made from orc heads?". Something like that. Maybe... I dunno... Next time that happens maybe they can be assigned to King's Collection and get the stuff not to sit on the floor and such.

You must take Indigo to the 6 fingered man at which time Indigo will say "My name is Indigo Montoya, You killed my father prepare to die." at which time a fight will ensue. You and Indigo must kill the 6-fingered man. While you have Indigo as escort if you say "inconceivable", Indigo will reply "I do not think that means what you think it means"

• All spellbooks with now come with the word "Don't Panic" inscribe on them and Vogon poetry is not allowed to be read over general chat.

  • Each town can appoint a Sheriff who in turn can appoint a deputy and form a Posse to hunt down PK's
  • New prospecting skill wherein you can pan for gold in rivers
  • New six-shooter, rifleman and tomahawk skills and weapons too (we already have gunpowder so why not?)
  • A new race ... The Red Indian. Be a brave or a squaw or medicine man.
  • Tomahawk of scalping which can be used in Fel to scalp your victim.

No fair, they've started putting out a newsletter for DAoC.

Granted, I tried that game out when I had a computer that would freeze up every few minutes, but compared to UO...it didn't even come close to UOwesomness
