As we all know "artifacts" used to be awesome, and now they are sort of all crap unless they fill a spot that has few other items in it, like aprons, boots, etc.
So just for fun since I don't recall a recent "make-an-item" post recently, come up with an item or items you think would restore that "holy crap" factor in the modern game. Make up properties, go crazy with stats, be reasonable with stats, thematic, practical... whatever.
Just for fun, so whatever. :p

The Hand of Ruination. War Hammer. Appearance: Black Green color.
Self Repair 5
Corrupt Armor: 10%. (Like the Rune Beetle ability)
30% SSI
50% Hit Fatigue
50% Hit Mana Drain
50% Hit mana Leech.
50% Hit Lower Defense

Mark of Covetous: Ring. Appearance: Lucky Coin color.

Grasp of Covetous: Cannot use or gain virtues, equipping drops all virtues to 0. 20% chance upon successfully stealing an item that you become hidden.

I congratulate you on your imaginativeness - gotta ask about that hammer, you're visualizing a fighting blacksmith? Also, with nocturne earrings and night sight spell, do people still need the night sight property on items?

Hammer was more of a utility idea, the fire related stuff was mostly thematic fun, but it would give a miner/smith a little something fun to whack on ore ele's with. Mainly its "wow factor" is the ever rare + to crafting skill, and the ability to craft searing weapons... assuming one had the desire to, heh.

The night sight on the ring was also thematic. I was just thinking, what would help out someone possessed with avarice, seeing in the dark of course. :p

I would also really enjoy it you could use drop down menu on artifacts to get some lore behind them. Would make them feel more... special.

Really I just wanted there to be a shield out there that is actually good for warriors. I've always thought it was silly that the only shields anyone ever cared about were the ones with mage stats.

I mean Sword and shield is THE iconic fantasy warrior combo, and Heater's used to be nearly ubiquitous warrior gear in the olden days, so I thought that shield was a good candidate for an upgrade to legendary "Warrior's Shield".

Being a shield user myself I'm excited to see if there are any shield related Parry skill specializations.

I think everyone would like an arti revamp. They are fairly pointless with only a handful of exceptions. Doom ones especially.

They could use a few more arties for cloak, robe, belt slot and maybe some earrings and boots.
Especially earrings. This is a very neglected armor spot. Similar to the resist earrings, they could just mix it up a bit if they had items with +1 MR, +1 HPR, +2 mana, +3 LRC, +5 Luck, etc.

Agreed! It is becoming more and more rare to find warriors who make successful use of their shield. They should really address this in upcoming publish.

Example... the 'Bulwark' mod you suggested:
+5 on the shield, then raise based on Parry skill. 80 points = +6, 90 points +7, 100 points +8... you get the point here.

Now THAT is a heck of an idea. It's the best one I have seen in a while, and really should be considered!!! VERY practical.

Are they not imbuable now? That bard suit would be worthless without imbuing some additional properties.

If you're talking about the Virtuoso armor, that's imbuable. But artifacts themselves are not.

The Curse of Mondain .... Addition can't log out with it... Will drop to ground... If in a house goes to under sign post.. Or Will just plain out not let you in a house.

And maybe buff it a bit more... And you got a nice never ending pvp mini game. Lol

I like extremely hard to craft artifacts that take rare resources, sorta like the scrappers where they are so random but still 10 years later people use them. Random property artifacts are the best. You could have stuff for all the trades.

I want a shield of invulnerability where I'm truly invulnerable for a period of time once a day. I know that's never gonna happen, but it would be some serious kick-ass fun :)

Hmm something I'd be interested in seeing is an expansion of what "On Hit" properties there are. Why can we have weapons that cast Fireball or Lighting, but not Necromancy spells? or Dual weapons sets like the Tekagi, Kama, Sai, Dashio and Rune Blades have 2 separate hit based spells at lower % Chance to fire. With that in mind..

15% chance to cast Strangle On Hit

an Artifact recipe that allows a crafter to make a Paladin Sword, that has 2 random specials. would have damage increase applied if exceptional, but would be reforge-able/imbue-able.

I always wanted to use a paladin sword, and all 2-h weapons should be unable to be disarmed unless they have the " balanced" property!

If you carry this in your pack(gargoyles only) at night
(UO night time) the statue will turn alive into a noncontrollable follower who heals you and uses small mystic spells to help you fight. If he dies maybe statue disappears or unusable for a week.
