I might have to create a .gif for that."My thread was Oscar-locked" does have a nice ring to it....
Absolutely not, I have a vacation dumpster there.wait.... wait...... yer not leaving our nice, quiet Legends boards, are ya Grouch??
and welcome to the rest of ya, but you can't take my Grouch
We'll have to fix that then won't we.. .she gets too relaxed and the game will suffer and we can't have that.Well.... welcome aboard! I was thinking how relaxed Mesanna must be at the moment. So many people fired up about the state of Stratics hardly anyone is pancakes about the game!
I know you all too well my friend. You are more of:Who moved my trash can? What is this business? *looks at the garbage heap* Actually this doesn't look so bad...
HEY!!! There have been plenty of posts you could like...you just refuse to admit it. ...laRico already stated it, but can we get a more detailed introduction of the new AND retained moderators, which forums they mod, do they play UO/other games? Please?
Dmnit... probably my first like of a Rico post!
perhaps a wiki-format like the one at uoguide could be used. very efficient, no staff resources required.Welcome to all New Stratics' Forums Moderators !
Do we know who will take the care of much of what Petra has been doing to update UO Guides, links, and pretty much many of the resources that Stratics hosts about Ultima Online ?
That is, if we find outdated info on Stratics about Ultima Online which needs to be updated, who are we supposed to contact for the necessary changes and updates ?
We've come from other areas across UO Stratics. Me I was and am still the UO Crime forum moderator, all of us have been around a while, you've just not noticed.Since I am partially new (lol) so where are these mods from? Are they current UO players? If so, what shards do they play and what type professions to they prefer.
Come on...let's make this introduction more complete...la

I started UO in 1997 or so, I currently mod EC forum,TC forum,Craftsman Forum, bugs and Uhall I play mainly on LS I started on pacific, and also play siege (recently started here). I joined stratics in 2004 and have used its resources as a visitor way before that! I currently live in the Willamette valley in Oregon!Since I am partially new (lol) so where are these mods from? That's been looked at before but there are issues to consider. First off if anyone can edit, we'll be spending all our time verifying and cleaning up after trolls, integrity of the information found is paramount. Secondly Wiki's simply aren't cut out for what Stratics does.perhaps a wiki-format like the one at uoguide could be used. very efficient, no staff resources required.
I do!But, do you like Skittles?
well you and popps are right, UO guide already has that format so maybe stratics wants to be more different / permanent. however UO guide also is much more up to date, and if resources are a problem a wiki might be the most viable option for stratics. it wouldnt have to be exactly the same as UO guide. That's been looked at before but there are issues to consider. I get the benefits of a Wiki style format, and it would work if Stratics was just UO. This is something that was attempted once in the past, where each game we covered had it's own Wiki style portal.. It simply didn't work well. Wiki formatting is vastly different and much more complicated than the Wordpress we have now.well you and popps are right, UO guide already has that format so maybe stratics wants to be more different / permanent. however UO guide also is much more up to date, and if resources are a problem a wiki might be the most viable option for stratics. it wouldnt have to be exactly the same as UO guide.
No worry of trolls / integrity. like UOguide, a user would have to be "approved" before being given access to adding to / editing the wiki. in essence, all approved members would be stratics volunteers. I myself have vast knowledge of the game, and love to keep up on current changes, however the current / old format of having to submit anything to the stratics editor for approval just isnt worth the time for me. If im taking the time to write something up, i want to know its going to be posted and not have to go thru hoops. Im sure at least 20 or so long time users would take advantage updating info, and would be much more efficient than having one person have to drag thru every single publish. it just isnt fair to have 1 or a few people do that when it could easily be done by the community.
thats just what i would do, its also not my website so really doesnt concern me.
get it. hehe yeah too slow for me at this time. if i feel "inspired" to bang out a guide in 15 mins, just the needed email / contact to see if the content was already being worked on would would kill it. it might take 3 days to get something up, where it could take 15 mins. not for me, but i hope you find some dedicated staff. i think it would be very hard to compete with the speed and efficiency of a wiki, especially without paid employees but hope it all works out.I get the benefits of a Wiki style format, and it would work if Stratics was just UO. If you want to look into getting stuff published here, ask about becoming a content creator or writer. Yes anything you write would have to get a once over from an Editor, but I'll let you in on something. That's largely to look for glaring errors (they happen), readability, and to make sure they do well with SEO so we get better rankings on search engines. What it all boils down too, is we want the content that appears on Stratics to live up to our standards. Yes things do wind up out of date, and need revamped, and that could be done with a various users via a Wiki, but it's much easier to have staff on board doing the work, people we can reach to make edits before it's approved for public viewing than to try and contact random people on the internet and then hope they make corrections/adjustments. People we can form relations ships as part of the Stratics Staff family and all work together to support.
Why does it matter? She did...of her own free will...laWhy did Petra feel the need to "jump" ? THAT is what is important.
