Say Brush to him. If you have all the pieces of a map together.Town criers are spamming every bank, sending us to some NPC in the Moonglow zoo who doesn't do anything. /shrug
I guess this is old and just leads to some typical "f**k you melee, quit UO" overpowered holiday turkey monster. I wasn't here last year for this.
Thank! When you kill a giant turkey you have a high chance to recieve an Ornithologist's Map - or a fragment of one. Three fragments create a whole map, just double click on one.
To use the maps, double click to find the location (no cartography needed). Then you head to the Moonglow Zoo and say "Brush" to Al the Ornithologist. He gives you an Ornithologist's Brush (tmered item, 10,800 seconds).
You then go to the map location and use the brush on the map, then the ground. You will get a message about how closw you are.. Keep doing that till you find the nest.
Once the nest is revealed, open the bag (SW corner) and get your loot. You should also then double-click any giant turkey eggs in the nest to destroy them (rare chance at an item).
The bag in the nest should contain: 1 giant turkey feather (brief invisibility when used), 3-5K gold
The bag also has the possibility at spawning something rare: Cornucopia, a plucked turkey, a harrow, a nest (empty).

Do I understand it right, then, that there is nothing new as to last year's Thanksgiving?
No new parts or rewards ?
Yes.Has anyone so far spotted anything new as compared to last year's Thanksgiving Event ?

Do you not plan on participating unless there is something new?Cool, and what would be this (or these..) new thing(s), if I may ask ?

Not sure if I really want to enjoy getting the bird...Look with all the work and the hollidays sneeking up on the Dev, I was just happy we got the Turkeys... not all of us got a bird last year or a harrow. (got the bird today!!) Enjoy it.
This time of year just enjoy the fun with your friends and murder the turkeys. Oh by the way ... Why are they hanging around my museum?? I have at least 4 at my door.

Does the Harvester Blade have limited uses like other tools used to get hides, meat etc.?Turning the plucked bird to a butcher gets you the Harvester Blade. From last year but I still like to have one on each character. Really useful tool that when used on a corpse puts possible leather, feathers, meats, furs and scales right into backpack.
This fix actually already happened last year. ca. halfway through the event.Warpig, sorry but barding has been fixed this year. The barding dificulty is 120 this year as opposed to the 12 of last year. I do not think JOAT will work. So the Dev's did spend some time on this. Just not alot for the initial looks of it.
for you yes (Seige - it will have item use count the first time you use it)Does the Harvester Blade have limited uses like other tools used to get hides, meat etc.?
It will not work, not even close to working. My bard is 118 music and 75 provo and does not stand a chance to provo them. Maybe they will drop it to 50 this yearI do not think JOAT will work.
BS. Prove it.
Nobody I have talked to has acquired anything that wasn't available last year.
Thats one I would not do alonea paragon!
sweet mother of god i wouldnt hate to try one of those.... but now i kinda wanna
Yes, Discorded it then Provoked Harbingers on it.Did you use a bard on that turkey???
You can Discord things that have 160 Barding Difficulty.I seriously doubt you could discord a paragon giant turkey, the fail rate on regular ones was increased from last year. No more barding dificulty of 12, its 120.0 now...
True ! but if i remember right the effect is less for things with 160?You can Discord things that have 160 Barding Difficulty.
It is, but these aren't 160, they're 120. I just brought up 160 because the other person seemed to think 120 was impossible.True ! but if i remember right the effect is less for things with 160?
No, I stated that a regular turkey was 120.0 barding difficulty. Since I have discorded many a turkey the last few days, I know its well within our ablities. However, since paragon status buffs a beastie considerably I figured that it would push them beyond our ability to discord. I haven't found a paragon turkey to lore it yet though...It is, but these aren't 160, they're 120. I just brought up 160 because the other person seemed to think 120 was impossible.

I think they spawn anywhere a bird can spawn. Not sure though, I haven't been on at all, and now that they have the right barding difficulty I'll never have a chance in hell of killing even a regular one heh.Where would you find a paragon turkey anyway? Unless you mean one of the bosses transformed into a turkey, I thought they were only spawning in Tram and Fel...?
That is just a scary scary thought that will haunt my UO dreams...the damn normal ones have killed me enough times now.... a paragon one would be like ...devestation.The Parragon ones are also 120 Barding Difficulty.
Parragon Giant Turkeys can be found in Ilshenar.
I'm callin' you out. I ran through the entirity of Ilshenar and found ZERO turkeys, let alone a single paragon one.
