New Artifacts From Abyss Housing Quest!

Sir Geoffrey's war chest certainly has some interesting items.

This is a picture of a guildmate modeling a new artifact talisman, obtained by the Abyss housing quest as a random reward from Sir Geoffrey's war chest.

Frostguard Talisman
Cold Eater 5%
Mana Regeneration 1
Lower Mana Cost 5%
Cold Resist 3%


Has anyone else received anything special from the Abyss housing quest?

Ditto. Anyone care to comment on the fun and replayability of this?

And do we have word on how long this is going to go on? Is it only until the housing spots are all taken or what? I have a major project that culminates on Sunday. This is not the week for me to be galavanting about the abyss, next week, however, I will be making up for lost time.

I'm hoping (since I believe we were told earlier the devs didn't want loads of people getting in to the 'lottery' for a house they don't want or won't place), these 'quests' will be in stages so you can do the earlier ones for the items and story, but opt out of the final 'lottery for the house' part.

I have done it twice once on my gargoyle and once on my elf/tamer and recieved a 48 intensity item and a 310 intensity item !
and you can do the quest and not be a part of the lottery for the house!
you can do it once per day per character(and i think per node but cant verify it yet)

Since it seems to not be a "first come first served" thing, I can say that one of the LS nodes is directly bhind the stairs from teh uman entrance of the Abyss, ont eh little hook in the center of the lava.. you can get down to it by heading toward the stairs to the area with all the fire monsters coming from that entrance, but heading west and running against the north edge of the hill.

the second human one is just past the entrance also on the little alter that looks like a pyramid
the first gargoyle one is just before the bridge on the tomb of kings side
and the second gargoyle one is also in the same area but across the bridge back in a little cave area that has 4 green l shaped wall things !

If it helps, the other 2 things I did get were: a normal Club & a xbow with 5 ssi on it. lol

I got a bracelet with 57 luck and 5 physical resist...... how crap is that?

But that's my normal luck on such things...

RNG has it out for me.

Regarding the artifacts:

I can confirm that the locations for LS are identical on GL.

Did this four times and got two times a ring with one property and two other times the frost guard talisman and a relic fragment. Yes, you can do it once per node.

The kingdoms of Britannia and Ter-Mur are attempting to build outposts in the Stygian Abyss where they can get early warning of any new dangers that might spring from its depths. There is much work to be done and they need your help! Will you become the new Ranger of the Abyss for Britannia or Warden of the Abyss for Ter-Mur?
This quest series will give a number of new rare items as well as other prizes. The grand prize is a special housing plot in the mysterious Stygian Abyss! There are two Stygian Abyss housing plots per shard and one lucky human or elf will win one and one lucky gargoyle will win the other.

This event is divided into two quest lines of three parts each. Each character may do only one quest line. The event begins on April 5th with parts one and two; part three will begin on April 12th. Parts two and three may be repeated daily to give you a new chance to win something rare and glorious. The Stygian Abyss houses can only be won during part three of the series and are rewarded by chance for completing the quest. Each quest line will end separately when someone wins the grand prize. We will be posting the winners of the houses for each shard on the UO Herald each day as they are discovered.

To begin the quest, humans and elves should visit Dexter on the second floor of Castle Britannia in Trammel. Gargoyles should visit the Lens Maker at his home in the Holy City of Ter Mur (the city near the entrance to the Abyss). If you are playing on Siege, Dexter and Sir Geoffrey have been moved to Serpent’s Hold fortress.

Both quests will take players around the world and through the Stygian Abyss and require the Stygian Abyss expansion to participate. If you win one of the houses on your shard, you will receive a ticket that will entitle you to the prize and that ticket is tradable or sellable within the game. When you have the ticket and you are ready to have the house transferred to you, contact Mesanna at barmstrong AT ea.com.

How long is this going to be running? I see the third phase starts on 12 April. Does that mean the first quest is no longer available.

To be honest even if you cant complete the quest, the items are becoming increadibly abundant. I personally like this, the items should be around 5-10mil by the end of the event.

No love for reds with this quest huh? So I get to do the quest twice a day while others can do it up to 6. Hmmmm....Couldn't put a green lantern spot in one of the champ spawn areas? The quest ingredients I could get on my blues if neccesary.

Surprised noones posted haha thats one of the drawbacks to being red stop whining. Yet they are also the ones who want scrolls in trammel. Seriously though there should be a spot for reds to do this quest.

so far I got mostly junk, 2 relic fragments and a Frostguard Talisman Owned By No One. I am guessing owned by no one is much rarer. sorry if I sound like I am bragging just letting everyone know it is possible to get a Frostguard Talisman Owned By No One.

on my 14th attempt i got a frag on my 16th I received the ranger cloak before that was nothing worth mentioning ! I almost gave up then boom there it was and it was on my archer who wanted it for the 5ssi!

So for day 1 & 2 there seemed to be a much better drop rate for the 2 special items.

33% chance from my numbers.

But day 3 I completed the quest 9 times and received nothing. Also many others I have spoken with seem to indicate the drop rate is well below 30%. Some have done the quest 20 times and nothing.

So... I'm wondering if maybe the drop rate was reduced during server down for day 3? IDK, I'm ok with the drop rate personally; just trying to get some answers for those who haven't been able to acquire their goodies yet. rolleyes:

On Hokuto, it is on sale on a Luna vendor for 70 million.

This is just what I've seen, and may not reflect the true value of the item.
