well, everyone's a noob at some point. i think the road to not being newb really starts with accepting that youre going to die a lot, and just stick fights out until you die. then come back and die some more, and so on until you learn how not to die.

least thats what i did. heres a ye olde tale, that i love to tell:

back when i joined the game, used to keep a chest full of crafted suits that gave me 70 resists, and only insured my arcane robe and boots, and after getting inevitably crashed by 4fc slayer (vs my 0-2 fc depending on the jewels i wore) would die, go put on next suit, run back, fight, die, put on next suit etc. it got to the point that slayer etc would carry scissors to cut up out measly suits.

in all that time, before we got a stuff together and made some suits we didnt actually get our spawns back once. not a single time. but, learned how to live by being blasted by 4fc 40+% SDI. over and over and over.

Err, Mackay isn't even part of the sunshine coast, let alone gold coast. The gold coast is the southern coastal part of QLD, whereas the sunshine coast is the northern part that ends at around Noosa Heads.

Mackay is far from Noosa, nor has the lifestyle or wealth that congregates there. Just cause the aboriginals earn more from their welfare checks than your annual salary, it doesn't mean that "Mackay" actually has wealth.

My god, I'm getting a geography lesson about the Qld coast from someone who has lived his whole life in South Australia...

The first thing I will say is that if you had any idea about Qld whatsoever you would know that just west of Mackay there is a copious amount of coal deposits. Coal, in case you didn’t know is Australia’s largest commodity export (approx $25 billion last year alone). I’m not necessarily a big fan of the place but you couldn’t be any more wrong when you say there is no money in Mackay, it’s actually the complete opposite, there is a ****load of money in this ‘rural town’. Please do your research before you make stupid comments like that again.

I come from a place called Coolangatta though, I'm sure you already know this as I have said it many times. Being from the arsehole of Australia, you may not know where Coolangatta is so i'll tell you. It is on the bottom end of the gold coast right near the QLD/NSW border. It’s far from the biggest city in Australia but definitely one of the nicest and has a lot more going for it than the dog pound you grew up in! I had the best of both worlds at my doorstep growing up - the surf and golden beaches of the gold coast and the beautiful tweed shire and northern rivers of NSW. When swamp rats like you decide you want to go on a holiday to get away from your meaningless existence (and the ****hole you live in) and you book a ticket (with mummy and daddy's money of course) to the Gold Coast, well, Coolangatta is the place you fly in to.

I was born and lived on the Gold Coast until I was 19. I then moved to Adelaide (1 and a half years of my life I will never get back), Brisbane (2 years), Townsville (5 years), Melbourne (1 year), France (2 years) and now Mackay (2 years). Again, you already know this as I have said it many times but you keep resorting to the whole ‘rural town’ thing because you really have no valid comeback. I mean, let’s look at you and your brother – You are in your mid twenties, you still live at home WITH YOUR PARENTS (freeloading leeches that you are), and you come from and still live in Adelaide which is a dreadful, dreadful place, I know from experience. Please keep up all the stories about what you and your brother are going to be doing with your life, they are very entertaining, you have a vivid imagination, you that?

i really dont know why elwood is bothering, hes having a careers discussion with people who are on their way into the career market, while he is in his career rut (which 98% of people all hit anyway). not me though, im so rad, im gonna learn to be a pro skater and kickflip my way to a billion dollars. (though, if i could have, i would have stayed with parents for as long as possible - you totally NEED to now because of the damn baby boomers pushing up costs and prices - giving people crap for doing so is ignorant of the current economic and social climate.)

its a shame there isnt a good enough ingame opponent to spur pvp talk. aupk (or whoever) need to start spawning like maniacs when rons are on and try to hold them - win or lose, youre gonna have more interesting stuff to talk about than what we all do. that way i can ring in and get my occasional forumpvp fix, which i still love, even though i havent played for ages. yeah those numbers sound pretty fun, but my ping is as i said close to 400. jsut not playable with this ancient game.

lol i dont even know what imbuing is in relation to this game. personally im mostly dissuaded from playing again because of the utter tramification of pvp, by removing the ability for mages to really use weps. it needed a small change, but to make it really only worthwhile to use point and click is a bit boring. the highest skill point this game had was mages. sure they were very powerful, but only when you were good at the game, not just buy a suit then dbl click and be effective.

i was out on my own etc by pretty much as soon as i finished highschool. which was fun and all, and i partied heaps and all that stuff, and to be honest i wouldnt change any choice i made (maybe going back to uni a year sooner, but thats about it), but it has made any possibility for me to buy property fairly difficult, and if i hadnt sort of fallen into starting a company with some friends (which has taken about 5 years of hard work for zero return to get to a point where we are actually looking good) id just be a teacher (which is fine and all, but those who can do, those who cant, teach) and would have almost 0 chance of owning a house in sydney.

unless youre born to wealthy parents who are rich enough to buy you everything you ever need, including house, you pretty much HAVE to live at home till at least 25-26. closer to 30 if youre in sydney.

the GFC didnt actually push house prices down as far as it should have in this country. our currency and everything we have is overinflated.

This actually could be the funniest thing I have ever read in my entire life. So because I'm hated by 90% of the population of Oceania (a reputation I'm quite proud of by the way) this means I would never have a chance of "getting" a girl? They have an indoor gym and snooker room. Do yourself a favour and check out the cost of housing here and you will find that for anything half decent the prices are comparable to that of the capital cities.

I live at home by my choice, I could easily move out considering what I am/my salary. However in doing so I have managed to accumulate a large holding in shares and cash. I'm a 24 yr old CA, I pull in extremely good cash and save even more by living at home. Unlike your childhood I live in a large house, with 2 large family rooms at each end of the house. Its perfectly fine, and I can party/have friends around all I want in my own living space. Infact my backroom would be larger than your entire ****ty house. Ask Paradox....

My life: I am 24, and have 2 degrees - 1 post grad (CA), and 1 grad degree (BCom). I have been a full time accountant for 3.5yrs. I don't like it, but have done it for experience in the business world - something you wouldn't understand. I am planning on going to banking and or mining - finance. I am now getting ready to move overseas, preferably the US when my contract at 30 June 2010 ends (although im traveling for 5 weeks in Europe in March as well). The GFC has somewhat hindered my ability to travel around the world working, but hopefully its better in 9 months. You have to live under a rock to not understand that the US has 9.8% U/E. Regardless of that my occupation and education allows me to travel the world without Visa hassels due to the specialist nature of my skills/education. A janitor, midnight fridge repairer, or community sports organiser will never get a Visa sponsorship - just a good laugh from the respective Embassy.

You have proved in your first comment that you really have no idea where Mackay is in relation to the Qld coast so I don't know why you would even make that comment but for the record Mackay is close to the great barrier reef, it's an hours drive from Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands, oh and it's approx the same distance from Brisbane as Adelaide is from Melbourne which is the closest half decent place from that dung pile you call home. But hey, I don't need to defend Mackay, it's an average place. I am happy to defend the place that I come from though and I will end up back there some day as all my family is there but not for a couple of years yet...

Ask anyone who has an idea (ie someone who has lived in the area or actually knows it well, not just from a map) and they will all tell you that the best part of the Gold Coast is between Burleigh Heads and Coolangatta. I wouldn't expect some Adelaide desk jockey to understand that though.

It has only been in the last few years that actual money/development has gone into the southern end - coolangatta, kirra, bilinga and tugun. I mean reflections is the only decent construction that has gone up in that place, elysee and nirvanna at Kirra, and a few boutique aparments/houses at bilinga and tugun.

Trust a dumb ****ing office clerk from South Australia to think that the Coolangatta to Kirra area is **** because it doesn't have that many high rise developments like the northern end of the Gold Coast. That is the beauty of it as it is the last real 'paradise' left on the coast but sadly that will change over time.

So your childhood birthplace was nothing more than a few yobbos, bogan surfers and a few naive holiday makers that didn't realise broadbeach/surfers/main beach was the 'actual' gold coast.

Correction. It's only really morons such as you and your family from far away **** places who think that the gold coast is only surfers paradise. People who really know the area actually prefer the lower end of the coast and steer clear of anywhere from Broadbeach north.

The only positive thing about coolangatta has/is the beach, but i guess living in mackay you can't experience that, considering there are jellyfish littered over your waters, and the occassional croc (lol) during the warmer months.

You can swim in the water in Mackay all year round, stingers only come during bouts of intense on shore winds. It's further north that get them seasonally - Townsville, Cairns etc
And crocs, well again that is further north. I think the last croc sighting here was around the time your grandfather snuck one into the indigenous house maid one night resulting in your father. Maybe that's why you are so racist towards aboriginal people?

Congested? LOL Coolangatta airport is about the same size as Townsville airport, it's hardly congested. Oh, and I lived up on the ocean side of Coolangatta Hill, if you had an idea where that was you would know that airoplane noise was not an issue.

wow. its about time they made it easier to acquire decent jewels.

though, it was always one of the more fun things about the game outside pvp was finding insane stuff on other servers, xferring, selling scrolls and stuff and buying things. it was one of the few areas of the game economy that actually worked pretty well - and a lot smoother than other games that allow x-ferring.

well ill see what i can do to get a better ping, whether i can pester my isp for better routing etc. because having spawns open for stealing around the clock, AND being able to pk asian players (who are always tough to kill, because they use EVERYTHING and ANYTHING open to them, and every latest gyp-tastic tactic - which is a compliment (of sorts), before you all get your extra-large panties in a twist) is pretty tempting.

of course not. but was hoping some more would join in before it happened. good pvp stems from this sort of forum bashing, as pvp is so much sweeter when you genuinely dislike the person youre fighting, and this is only helped by the back and forths here. the more personal it gets the better.

i dont even know the guy, but i reckon elwood couldnt really care whats said.

either way, lets hope this translates into some more confrontational battles. hopefully the forumpvp will spur some people into giving the rons their just desserts.

Haha, very true, while I don't hate anyone here (I don't know them enough to hate them) I do really dislike pet and the twins. Paradox is kind of like the fat kid in every schoolyard group. He talks tough like the other kids but he is completely useless and no one respects him so he is ignored for the most part.

It's fun to argue here but you're right, I don't really care what is said. I do like to read some of their posts though as they can be quite comical. As juvenile as this is I do find it enjoyable although i'll get bored with it soon enough and you won't hear from me for a while. I have no intention to start playing uo again, at least not in the immediate future

FYI, I don't know who's or what post was deleted, it's a shame as i'm sure I would have got a laugh out of it. I was actually enjoying taking on the 4 of them, well it's really only 3 as I don't count paradox on here just like I never counted him as a pvper. As for the deleted posts my guess is that not everyone shares the same 'cultural views' as the twins do.

Your judging my personality off of how I sound and act in vent and assume that i cant "get" (im curious if you mean **** them or go out with them) girls because of that, seriously I don't understand how somebody could be so stupid. The reason I play a game is to have fun when I'm bored at home, I don't care what some 32 year old nerd thinks about me.
