The nay-sayers and Powerscrolls.
They said production shard Thieving was dead.
I set out to prove them wrong.
I trained to steal from Champ spawns.
In the first month alone, I made 10's of mils from Scrolls.

Amen. The thief profession is by far the most exciting and entertaining then any other class I've played in 10+ years of my career with UO.
Some of us, luckily, keep this class alive, even with insurance and still pull amazing steals.
Me? It certainly wasn't for the money, if that was the case, I'd play a tamer...laIn the first month alone, I made 10's of mils from Scrolls.

I read the tales of Crazy Joe and then I played a thief because he seemed to have so much fun as a thief so I wanted to have fun, and I did quite good in a pre-pbu 16 enviornment and so I then reactivated my account and I now play Aaron as a thief
I made mine before trammel was out. My main purpose for the thief when I first made him was to steal gold from the noble NPC's. I just joined UO and I needed a quick buck
After a while I fell in love with the thief class. So I began training him. I first started him with fencing until I ran into a fellow thief who gave me some good advice. Thus, I got rid of fencing in favor of wrestling/arms lore. Disarm stealing baby!
So now, it's for the fun of being a rogue. Taking items from unsuspecting players. Letting them do the work and taking it away from them. I like the thrill of the chase, getting away with the item and hoping they don't catch me later on.
Unfortunately, perma-gray is gone So the part of trying to stay alive after getting away kind of went down the drain part way.

Ha. Yes, that's what I'm talking about.
I don't care how much of a badass pvp template you're running.
You can't keep your scrolls safe from me.
And, if I get away, I win!I also love it when I'm waiting on some spawners to finish, they get raided and a nice fight ensues. 2-3 groups battle it out. The boss drops.
Out of all the groups fighting each other, I the Thief am the one that gets the spoils, lol.

Got me there. I did it for the money -_- and I'm not ashamed.
Tamers? they are some of my favorite targets.
Maybe Rico would like to share with the rest of the class why he plays a thief?
Because he thinks highly of himself- as do we all. This one has never seen low beaten thief, with no regard. Thieves seem to be smug, and thinking they are a notch better than rest. And so it is lol. We need nothing, and can beat anyone. We ARE better!
And maybe he wouldn't...but I did say one reason I didn't start playing a thief...la

I used to make a killing off of nobles in ocllo, they'd have hundreds of the escort npcs and the nobles had what like 600 gold and sometimes power and vanqs on them

I first started playing UO and the thief class thanks to Hobbes of S|S. My first experience as a thief in training was camping an IDOC with some S|S and a ton of other people. That day I made my first steal and got my first murder count. Gotta love poison
I still remember the day I stole 5 blade spirit scrolls, this was when if you cast them they attacked people, and cast 5 at Brit Gate, not knowing it did this...one of my guild mates said "You'll regret that tomorrow" I then clicked my name and saw it in dark red, suddenly understanding the regret i was going to face.

Pure boredom. I started because i was bored and wanted to irritate reds. Then someone stopped me one day and asked hypothetically if i'd steal something out of a "new friends" pack. a short discussion later... I join Poo and now i support my account on Stealing from the best PVPers UO has to offer. And im still a royal pain in the nuts.

I got tired of paying for Power Scrolls with my own money while certian guilds controled the champs. So I to hell with it ill make them buy my scrolls or they can work for them and give them to me.
