Why is it called "death strike"

Why is it called "death strike" when it does so much less damage than a normal hit?

Why did I use 27 mana to hit for half the damage that not using death strike would have dealt?

(Seriously, Ninjitsu needs some moves that don't require stealth or hiding or running or jumping.)

It depends on the amount of skills invested. Do you have 120 Ninjutsu and 120 Stealth? Did the other person stand still? Or run away? Death Strike does less damage if your opponent stays and fights.

I think the OP is referring to the "weapon" damage.

Deathstrike is like -95% damage increase.

a Paladin sword (20-24 base damage) = 1 damage if you use deathstrike.

Also, ranged weapons do a lot less damage with Death Strike. Casting "Teleport" instead of running will not trigger Death Strike.
