Why Diablo is better than it's sequel.

These are just a few of the reasons why Diablo is better than Diablo II & Lords of Destruction.


Diablo = Strong female lead.
Diablo II = lack of the original characters

Diablo = Lots of blood and gore.
Diablo II = Less blood and gore.

Diablo = No gay advertising bots that join and leave games.
Diablo II = Tons of advertising bots.

Diablo = Cheaper than Diablo II.
Diablo II = More expensive than Diablo.

Diablo = A much better spell system.
Diablo II = Removal of the spell system and replaced with a "learning" system.

Diablo = Any class can use any item.
Diablo II = Only certain classes can use certain items.

Diablo = Much better storyline.
Diablo II = Not so much.

Diablo = You can finish the entire game with 3 other players.
Diablo II = With 7 other players you can only beat an act.

Diablo = You can do quests in games even if other players have completed it.
Diablo II = If another player in the game completed the quest, then you can't do it.

Diablo = No CD-key required.
Diablo II = CD-key

Diablo = Comes with a free demo version of the game.
Diablo II = Does not come with a free demo version.

Diablo = Your all on your own (other than the other players).
Diablo II = NPCs help you (and take your kills).

Diablo = You can duplicate items.
Diablo II = Item duplication has been removed.

I think they are both about equal for main story.

Diablo = No CD-key required.

Since path 1.12 I believe, no CD-Key is required for D2.

I don't see how this is a plus. But if you play LAN or open, you can dupe and edit as much as you want.

PW your games. Play LAN. Set a limit such that level 1 players can't join your game.

Diablo's spell system was primitive and utterly broke the game. There's no reason to play anything other than a Sorcerer because of their innately fast casting speed and how much better spells were than weapons.

Diablo = Any class can use any item.
Diablo II = Only certain classes can use certain items.

On the other hand...
Diablo = Only about 10 items in the game worth using.
Diablo II = As many as a dozen functional item strategies per class.

Diablo = Much better storyline.
Diablo II = Not so much.

This makes no sense.

Diablo = You can do quests in games even if other players have completed it.
Diablo II = If another player in the game completed the quest, then you can't do it.

Actually, it's usually only if the creator of the game has completed the quest. This is a safeguard against people doing the various A3 quests over and over again for arbitrarily large HP/Stat/Skill point numbers.

Blame the pirates. If cheap ****s didn't try to rip off game companies then nobody would have needed to create the CD-key.

The Diablo demo sucked. You could only play a Warrior and I don't think you could even go to the catacombs.

I don't know if it is because i was a little kid when Diablo came out but that game scared the crap out of me. Diablo 2 much less scary for some reason.
