Dibs on BMG...Brokeback Mountain Guild. :)

In all seriousness though, it shouldn't be any harder to code than currently being able to ride in someones boat...same principle. You would only move as fast as your partners client will carry you.

Or just make it so the passenger is immobile not able to cast or anything.

Out of curiosity, what purpose would it serve to have another person on your mount?
I've actually been asking this question about Dragon heads, Virtue tiles, Mouse holes, Useless shirts, Mouse statues.... I can go on.

The mount thing could serve for roll players, escorting a friend and not have him get lost, And just looking plain awesome! Carriages would be cool too, but I will settle for riding on the back of someones mount.

Well I've had many thoughts on this...... Why can't I friend someone to my mount and have them "ride" it while I walk? have the horse still only follow me but let my friend "ride" my horse.... (This would be excellent for RP).

Why can't anyone ride your character while your in animal form...... especially party members or guildmates..... this would be a hoot..... and nice... (Also VERY good for RPers).....

And finally having someone ride on my mount with me... Never really thought of that... but it could be cool...

Who would control which way you moved? =P

Worse yet, you can attack in animal form just not do special strikes....imagine two Archers with Uber Bows......one riding one driving....one riding does moving shot other just steers and stops to take pot shots.

The ninja of course.

Of course the player being ridden would be unable to do any attacking. It would be a pretty interesting tactic if this was done in the first place.

Let's just agree it would be romantic to ride the same mount with your loved one or carry someone for whatever other purpose.

But please leave Animal Form out of the equation unless BOTH persons cannot use their weapons or the Ninja cannot use any ability/weapon for 30" after the rider gets off them.

Imagine dismounting someone only to find out you now have to fight a Ninja running faster than you and shooting, and the guy you just dismounted spamming Paralyse and Mortal Wound on you.. Because they WILL be archers. You know it.

Oh and what about Stamina loss over time for the Ninja or the poor mount carrying two people on it?
Come to think of it.. Who would fall off if two people ride the same mount in case of a dismount attack? Both? More damage if both? Whose DCI and Parry would count against the attack.. ;P

And to be totally honest, of course two people can fight atop a single mount.. They are LEGENDARY in their skills.. ;P

We could hire other players to be our mounts. Let us get on their shoulders and run around like that. Fun for all...la

We would also probably end up seeing tamers mounted on their mates llama, with a GD following close behind.

this might work if it was a skill you had to train. (it could replace camping, as I think the skill is pretty useless any player should be able to start a campfire with no skill.)

And if:
-The second mounted player would have a chance of falling off every so many steps.

-The second players ranged attacks/magic/healing would be reduced by 50%

-Second player has no control over the direction of the mount.

-When attacked both players take full damage.

-60 to 120 sec dismount delay time.

-The mount stamina loss would be 2X normal.

The higher your riding skill the less chance you have to fall off, and also the better mounts you could ride on, someone at 0 could ride on a horse with another player where as someone at 120 could ride any mount.

But would like to see this even if it had the same ruleset as the second character being in house customization mode, there they cant do anything but be along for the ride, as previous posters said it would be great for escorting friends places, because lets face it the current follow system is garbage.

good idea.

I always thought the swampy dragon should be able to fit two... and some of the other creatures that have such wasted back space :D

Maybe introduce secondary skills ... making this one of them, putting cooking on there... and some other skills... that dont count twords your skill point total (yeah like in WoW)

That's what I've been saying for years!
OMG... that is an amazing idea haha I love it. As long as the ninja cannot do anything besides carry their rider places, and the rider would have to be a guildmate.

we have a fellow rider on our mounts?
Why not? Coding time vs demand? I could be wrong, but it sounds like a non-trivial change

Artwise, when doing riding in KR, it took a lot of iterations to get things right and that was just with one rider - getting things to now work with two riders plus look ok with one rider would be very hard (2d and KR). So, given the limited resources, can you convince the devs that this is something the community values as a priority over other content? On the other hand, ninja-mount-talismans might get around the art problem.

Codewise, you have to have a system for clients to understand that the mount is being controlled by one person, but the rider is controlled by another. Now this could be looked at as an application of boat code, but I'm not entirely wild about how boats look in motion (not sure why, perhaps its just choppy whenever the client and server have to negotiate the news of exactly what the boat is doing?)

But I do like the idea :)

It would be funny though if the "Mount" had stealth and could hide and the rider stay visible......

I kinda like the idea of being able to mount someone in one of the ninja forms...makes a hell of a lot more sense then an ostard using a bow.
