when did this landscape change?

when did the large open field northeast of vesper, just east of the provisioner and tailor shops, that used to house a castle years ago, become a maze? was it done for an event? never noticed it until today.

Our original EMs Fiorella & Sangria made it, they had a Succubus, a Hydra, Elder gazers, Poison Eles & one other if I remember correctly. Was an event as King said for Halloween. They left it there & the monsters have changed on & off throughout the year.
