Weapon Material Types?

If you're making Super Slayers which material would you use or does it matter?

I'm guessing that in general it's best to go with these metal type choices:

Demon - Agapite
Respond - Verite
Undead - Bronze
Arachnid - Bronze
Reptile - Verite
Elemental - Verite

I know 100% is ideal, but not going to the effort to make/find 100% Unless there's some trick that doesn't involve making 1000's of weapons with runic hammers hoping for 100% damages with no useless mods.

I have that in an Excel spreadsheet, known resists of 350 monsters combined, and broken into various slayer types. It wouldn't be too hard to break into Dungeons or Champ spawns.

Here is what I have so far (Wish I knew how to display here in a table). Higher end Mobs are distributed pretty well compared to groups, but all have exceptions. If I were to target a specific Champ Boss, Doom or Renowned Boss, then of course I would tailor the weapon to that boss - as you pointed out, that's not the argument here.

ALL Groups: Phy/Fire/Cold/Pois/Energy
Average - 47.6/38.3/39.0/43.4/37.2
Median - 47.7/37.7/38.8/40.4/33.9

You can craft 100% elemental (including 100% chaos) damage weapon.

Elemental damage type you want depends on where you usually fight.

I myself prefer:
Fire damage for Undead and Arachnid
Cold damage for Daemon and Reptile
Poison (Energy) for Reponds
Cold for Elemental

reptile spwan
for level 3 and 4 lowest average is enegry.
Lava lizard have no fire resist,so reptile low average resist is cold.
So I use 100% energry damage for reptile spawn.

Overall resist for a spawn are near useless. You really only need to worry about maybe the 3rd and 4th levels, the levels 1 and 2 of a spawn die so quick (low resist/hit points) they aren't really worth worrying about. I would just look at the resist for the creatures in the 3rd and 4th levels of a spawn and go from there.

No. But now it's much more easy. At everage you get one 100% elemental damage weapon from 2-3 shadow runic hammers.

Yes, but given my luck it will also throw on some useless mods that will take away from the effectiveness of the weapon.

Not a big deal, CW works.

I've just finished giving my sampire a makeover and need to now make some longswords. How do you craft the 100% cold, eng etc?

Yeah I dunno man.

Either you sit the making the weapons with a runic, hoping to god you get the needed damage types without any extra useless mods, or there was a thread that talked about using Reforging to do the same thing.

I think I'll just imbue but craft from the certain metals!

If you have the ability to reforge it's really in your best interest to spend an hour or two reforging to get the elemental spreads you want. Shadow Runic hammers are your friend. If you really don't care about having 100% elemental damage you can use Dull Coppers. Even then, the 60 fire / 40 resist ones can be enhanced to 100% fire.

Is there a list of materials to make "normal" slayers from?

This sounds good but I'm pretty new to crafting myself and don't really get that. I've just been making normal weapons with my blacksmith, then imbuing. It's what base metals to use I'm trying to workout.
