Ive never turned things in. do only high end stuff give you points or can you throw away junk and get something from it?

I just found the list, seems like fishing has some of the better returns for how hard the items are to get.

yes you can throw away junk for points. When I do baracoon for example I dryloot him and trash everything that I don't need (unwanted scrolls included). Usually I end up with 1k to 7k turn in points (the latter if I get a catrina's crook or slime statue which is worth 5k points).
