Training Wrestling

According to Kane's guide, in order to gain wrestling the pet needs to be within a 10 point range (plus/minus) of the mob. I am training a greater dragon that has had 111.9/130.5 wrestling for a couple weeks. Is there a cap on skill points for GDs? Typical training has been on other greaters, hiryu and elite ninja.

Any suggestions?

I have trained several greater dragons hunting Swoop. You can use Animal Lore to view its skills, and lower them with Discordance if needed/desired.

There is no Total Skill Point Cap for pets, as there is for player characters. Pets can be trained up to their individual maximum skill value for each skill. The pets individual maximum values are determined from its spawned skill values, when tamed. For Greater Dragons, their skill caps for Wrestling, Tactics, and Resisting Spells will be 90% of their spawned values. There is a good discussion on skill cap determination here: http://stratics.com/community/threads/is-this-a-keeper.314560/.

Since you have not gained n quite some time, I suspect that your greater dragon is at its skill cap for Wrestling. I suspect that it had a pre-tame Wrestling of 124.3. This would result in a skill cap of 111.9 (124.3*0.9=111.9). The /130.5 indicates the post-tame skill of a greater dragon which spawned wth the maximum possible wrestling skill of 145.0. You can find the spawning data on greater dragons here: http://uo.stratics.com/database/view.php?db_content=hunters&id=2585.

Thanks Barry for the info, the math is really helpful. I will need to screenshot fresh tames to keep a record of the lore.
